Y/N's POV

I was sitting down at the bridge near Sakura, watching them work on getting it built when Sakura yawned, drawing Tazuna's attention.

"Are you two always this lazy?" Tazuna asked as he walked by carrying a beam on his shoulder

"Where's that weird blonde kid and the one with the attitude?" He asked us in curiosity

"Their training, climbing trees" Sakura said as we watched him walk

"To tough for you two?" He asked her

"No, in fact, I'm the best, that's why the sensei sent me to guard you" Sakura said full of herself

"You're joking, y/n is the only one I think can really do anything here" He said glancing at me

Sakura was obviously angered by what Tazuna said, a tick mark appearing on her forehead. One of the men walked up to Tazuna, the man being his friend that worked on the bridge with him, Giichi.

"Tazuna, uh, I need to talk to you" The man said as he stopped in front of Tazuna

"Huh?, what about?" Tazuna asked turning around after he put the beam down

"Uh, the thing is, I've been thinking a lot about the bridge, and I decided I've push my luck far enough, I want out" The man said, Tazuna getting both angry and frustrated

"Now you're going to quit on me, just like that?, you're kidding!" Tazuna yelled at the man in anger

"You know, I stayed on because of our friendship, but I'm putting my life on the line everyday I stay here, Gato and his thugs will show up eventually" The man said look down

"Hmm" Tazuna hummed

"When they do, they'll kill you and the bridge will never get finished anyway, it's a lost cause Tazuna why don't we stop now while we can still get out of this alive?" The man asked Tazuna

"Because, without this bridge, people will starve, children will die if this bridge isn't finished and it will just saw that this village is full of a bunch of cowards that are scared of Gato and his men" I spoke up from my spot, sitting up straight

"No chance" Tazuna said looking at the man

"Huh?" The man said, glancing at me then back to Tazuna "are you letting a kid tell you what to do?"

"No, this is our bridge, like y/n said, our island is poor and it will stay that way until this bridge connects us to the mainland" Tazuna said to the man who was now looking away from him

"Commerce, trade, and hope, that's what we're building here" Tazuna said to the man, trying to get through to him

"There's not going to be much hope if we're all dead" The man said

"It's already noon, let's break for lunch" Tazuna said as he began walking pass the man

"Tazuna, let's not end it like this" The man said to try and stop Tazuna

"Save you breath, oh and Giichi, don't bother coming back after lunch" Tazuna said as he continued to walk

"Why is it so hard?" I yelled out in frustration at not being able to get up the tree

'Dammit, why can't I climb this tree, y/n and Sakura got up with no problem, I wonder what y/n must think of me' I thought to myself, looking up at the tree the glance at Sasuke
