Rudy Jane Sinclair presses herself against the truck door as much as she can, the coolness of it biting her skin through her jacket. Anything to get away from her insane Aunt Jane is better than nothing.

She still has no idea why her grandmother named her after this woman. Rudy isn't insane like she is. There is no resemblance in their personalities.

Her bright green eyes search out the window, watching the massively tall trees pass by in a blur. The sight of them made her stomach twist and knot themselves. Green fills her vision It was all beginning to be too much and she hadn't even been in Forks for an hour yet.

Already she's had enough of this.

"Whatcha thinkin' bout?" Aunt Jane asks after turning down the radio volume. Rudy's glad to no longer hear rock from the seventies. It was beginning to destroy her eardrums.

Those wild brown eyes of Jane slide over to a cowering Rudy. The teenager wraps her arms around her waist, holding herself tightly.

Rudy shrugs her shoulders without much care. She pulls her thick orange flannel jacket closer around herself, purposefully refusing to answer. She isn't going to say a word.

Aunt Jane scoffs at Rudy's lack of voice. She clearly doesn't like being brushed aside like a fallen leaf.

"Are you just going to ignore me to whole time you're here?" The much older woman tries asking something else. Saying anything to bring out some sort of fight from Rudy.

She got the same response. Total silence. Well, this sure is going to be a fun experience.

Rudy keeps her eyes everywhere but on her aunt. She doesn't want to look at her. Not after what happened at the airport. She'd give anything to forget that embarrassing moment. Perhaps she can find something to carve her eyes out.

"I know you don't like this situation but you ain't gotta choice in the matter. Might at well deal with it now and get over it." Aunt Jane presses her foot down on the gas peddle, forcing the older model Ford truck into a higher speed.

Making a stubborn Rudy grip on the door. A hard scowl on her face. She refuses to budge even an inch.

The scrunch of her nose causes her many freckles to stand out more. Not even that button nose can make her look angry. She silently curses her mother's good looks and father's heightened emotions. No matter how hard she tries to look genuinely mean Rudy will forever be a small rabbit of a girl.

Rudy has absolutely no idea where Aunt Jane is taking them. They drive through the entire town of Forks, Washington within fifteen minutes. Passing by the high school and police station.

Aunt Jane doesn't fail to mention that the chief of police is her closest friend. That he has a daughter of his own. Maybe Rudy could be friends with her. Yeah, like that will ever happen.
