Rudy waits on the front porch of the Cullen house. She stares down the road as if it were her worst enemy. In this case, it certainly is. Not gifting her Jasper fast enough will surely make it on the top of her Let's Get Revenge list.
She taps her hiking boot-covered foot on the crisp wooden steps. The quick noise echoes into the afternoon breeze. Winds so chilly that they might have blistered her cheeks if she were human. Strong glistening orange sunlight flicker through the tree canopy.
Rudy sighs heavily and pulls her thick leather jacket around her middle. Blowing chunky pieces of her curly hair away from her piercing eyes. Still impatiently waiting for his much-needed arrival.
But soon after going up and down the steps probably fifty times, Rudy starts to hear a growing set of spinning truck tires.
The vampire becomes a striking plank. Her once-human heart beating away even with the absence of blood flowing in her veins. Even both corners of her lips lift higher than they had in the last two months.
Not before long a massive cherry red truck appears down the road. Excitement floods Rudy's bones more than she was ready to allow. Now visibly jumping on her toes.
She barely reaches the last step when Jasper parks the large vehicle. Her eyes instantly locked with his through the windshield. Making her chest swell with unimaginable love and happiness.
"I've missed you." And just like that Jasper Hale is in front of her. Whispering in her ear as he grips her in a tight embrace.
Rudy giggles excitedly. Her pale fingers quickly sink into his thick golden curls.
"I think I missed you more." Rudy chuckles right into his chest. She inhales his sweet woodsy scent that always makes her brain go fuzzy.
Rudy pulls back and grins wide. No longer does she feel isolated from their little supernatural world. The person, the vampire, who makes Rudy feel comfortable within her own stone skin is finally back.
"I haven't felt you being this happy in a long time," Jasper admits as she wraps his arm around her. Guiding them up the stairs one step at a time. Loving the fact that there is no one around to ruin this.
Rudy scoffs as they reach the front door. Stopping just before it can be pushed open.
"You make me happy. You got a problem with that, Cowboy?" She grins wide enough to show off her pearly teeth.
Instantly feeling all warm in her heart when he returns her expression with a grand smirk of his own.

It's been a while since everyone in this vampire family has been in the same room together. At least one or two of them would be out of town. In the mountains hunting their prey.
