Bella Swan continues to debate long and hard within the school's parking lot. Whether or not she needs to drive to the Cullen residence. If it's a good idea to barge into their home and demand to know where Edward fled. Her eyes drift to Alice and Oliver as they skip together to Edward's silver car. Her heart aches terribly for him. She tries her best not to cry in front of all these people. But tears protest against her and build in her eyes.
She'll go home and do that later when there isn't anyone around.
When she watches her new friend Rudy Sinclair get picked up by Forks' designated crazy lady she has already decided. Seeing her friend's furious glare that shoots at everyone is enough motivation for Bella to put her truck into drive.
Now in her old rustic truck, she was entering the moist forest, her heart beating a million miles a minute. The prehistoric vehicle lurches in a staggering rhythm. It's just another reminder of what Edward would say. This is a death trap.
She reaches their home a while later after a quick rain douses the world around her.
Bella parks her truck and slams the driver's door shut to announce her presence. She hoped the sound was loud enough to ruffle their eardrums. Anything to get their attention.
The determined and yet desperate girl sprints up the front porch steps. Her hair is drenched in recent rain and her bones are absolutely chilled.
As if a queue goes off, Alice and her mate Oliver come to meet her at the door. Their faces are grim. It only fuels the imploding fire within her.
"He's not here," Alice said first thing. Her gold eyes don't meet the human's brown ones.
Bella huffs, crossing her arms. "Where is he?"
Her voice is hoarse from crying so much. She'd been holding it together all day. Rudy made her laugh with those odd jokes based on her life in Texas. It was a good break from her mind.
"You and Rudy Sinclair will be friends for a very long time," Alice says as she suddenly recovers from an abrupt vision. Oliver holds her steady by the arms in case Alice's knees buckle beneath her.
Her mate lovingly caresses her shoulder. Bella gulps. Her heart is full of envy. Why did her love have to leave?
"What did you see?" He asks. His British accent is rather pleasant to the ear but does nothing to soothe her worry.
Alice shakes her head with a smirk on her face and gazes at Bella. The young human tilts her head in a confused way. She isn't sure why Alice keeps on looking at her like that.
"Come in, this might be hard to hear." Alice offers out a pale dainty hand to Bella.
Bella staggers inside without taking the outstretched hand, her small steps echo into the living space. She hurries to take a seat on the nearest couch. Not even bothering to say hello to Jasper who sits on the bottom stairs.
