Being tasked with getting camping supplies for Bella and Edward is really not how Rudy wants to spend her Thursday afternoon, especially with how hard the storm is supposed to hit later. Her best friend has to be whisked away with Jake to spread her...scent, to make sure Victoria's vampire army doesn't go into town looking for her. Meaning she has to slice her finger and have drops of blood coat trees leading to the clearing in Alice's vision.
That thought alone makes Rudy squirm. Having Bella do something like that is sick. Allowing their friend Jake to be there with her while she does it is even worse.
Rudy is grateful she declined when Bella asked if she wanted to come along for the trek through the hilly forest. She can't bear to see any of her friends, or family in any kind of pain. She's just complain about it the whole time and purposely make everyone feel uncomfortable.
Edward arrives at the house all moody with a scowl. Clearly pissed that his girl has to be hanging out with a wolf all day.
"Why the long face?" Rudy asks from where she sits at the piano. A smirk can be heard through her tone.
She has been waiting for Jasper to get back from the garage. He's been there for a while now. Working on small birdhouses that Rudy really wants to place all within the forest.
She rather likes the smell of freshly shaved wood on his clothes.
Edward immediately shoots her a glare, not even trying to hide his sneer. The flipped collar of his grey jacket makes him look spooky. It is as if he belongs in a remake of Dracula.
"Don't you have more important things to do than hover in my house?" He makes it seem like she is a squatter in an abandoned building.
She inhales sharply. Her nostrils flare. The girl rises from the piano bench and crosses her arms firmly. Very ready to shout.
"I would have been home by now if it wasn't for Carlisle and Esme. If you want me to leave then pick a fight with your parents." Rudy snarles as roughly as she can.
These days she and Edward can't seem to get along. It is getting worse by the minute. Mike Newton is no longer her biggest concern. Ain't that funny?
The vampire tries to say something else but decides against it. His father, Dr. Cullen casually walks in right after Rudy mentions him.
He smiles softly at Rudy. She is forced to give one back as if nothing is about to happen.
"I'm considering making Rudy Sinclair a permanent guest in our home, Edward. Do you have any concerns about this?" The truly handsome doctor asks his vampire son. His brow arches as well. Almost challenging Edward to go against him.
