Leaving a wonderful life Rudy Sinclair had always known was the worst thing that has ever happened to her.
Forks, Washington was absolutely Hell on Earth. Too much rain. Not a single Dr. Pepper in sight. She would surely die of thirst.
That is if...

Silence consumes her mind as she lies on the medical table in the Cullen house. A lingering warmth still struggles to fizzle out of her limbs. She wasn't sure how long she's been like this.
The pain numbs her mind to many things.
Rudy feels trapped in her new body. It feels stretched somehow. As if she were saltwater taffy that's been pulled apart and reformed into something stronger, more dangerous.
She isn't really a girl anymore either then. Not even a human anymore either. She is a vampire woman who can't even open her eyes yet.
To be totally honest, she is terrified to see her new body. There won't be too many changes of course. But most will be new and different. She doesn't like different.
A few more days pass by and Rudy finally manages to wiggle her toes and fingers. Carlisle happens to be in the room when she twitches her left arm.
His doctor's fingers carefully examine her arm, his touch is light like a feather.
"Can you hear me, Rudy?" He asks her softly. Not expecting her to actually answer him yet.
"I'm afraid to open my eyes," Rudy speaks in a low whisper.
Carlisle isn't alarmed at all. He helps her to sit up at the medical table. Informing her that she is still dressed in bloody clothes from two weeks ago. It takes a long time for her to Change to a vampire it seems.
"Jasper wouldn't let Alice or Rosalie dress you." He explains.
"Why not?" Rudy questions. She arches her brows slightly.
The doctor chuckles to himself. "He preferred for it to be up to you whether or not you wanted to abandon your human style."
All she does is hum in answer.
Eventually, her eyes crack open. The doctor left the room a while ago. Claimed he was going to find Jasper for her. She tries to wait for the blonde vampire. But her eyes have other ideas.
This overwhelming sense of calm washes over her as she welcomes this very new line of vision. The incredible forest greets her through the windows. So rich with different shades of green Rudy has never noticed before.
Golden light from the early morning sun shines through the thick canopy. Blanketing the pretty ocean-blue carpet that sat on the grey-tiled floor. Making it glow like fire.
Rudy peers down at her hands. They are still covered in her once-human blood. Underneath it, all are longer, thinner fingers. Her nails are almost glossy. So pale. No blue veins under her thick stone skin anymore.
She hears his feet down the hall. He does not breathe. Jasper doesn't need to. Rudy guesses she no longer needs to either. The act is a habit to her.
