Time is a cosmic entity that Rudy will forever have in her back pocket. Though it's a shame that her best friend might not have any of it for much longer. That fact alone everyone can see.Her swollen belly looks like it might pop open any day now. It's been about five months since their honeymoon. Rudy is sure something terrible will be on their doorstep soon.
Even as Bella continues to drink crimson human blood from that styrofoam cup, she still looks like a ghost. Pale skin is littered with purple bruises.
Jake can no longer look at her the same. As if the human woman purposely does this to torture him. If he wanted to be in pain he should just ask the Southern vampire to knock him around the head a few times. He's sure Jasper would do so without hesitation if Rudy wasn't there to see it.
She would be more than glad to do so. Anything to keep her mind off her dying friend. Because that is exactly what is happening. Bella is dying from the inside out. All thanks to the unborn child.
Rudy forces herself to smile each time the wolf guy grimaces as Bella sips the red liquid through the clear straw. Whatever helps poor Bella feel better is worth it. He will just have to get over it.
If not then he can go outside with the other two wolves he brought with him. An extra pair of eyes around the Cullen house has been plenty of help. It proves to them all that Jake isn't the young teen anymore who carries too wide of a smile. Good for him.
Carlisle doesn't want to take any chances that the pack might come and try to murder Bella before the baby arrives. The thought makes Rudy want to go over to the Reservation and rip them apart herself. However, if she did so Jake would hunt her down to the ends of the earth. She won't blame him for it either.
By the way Edward glares at her the vampire doesn't seem to apposed to her idea.
As the days go on Bella grows less sick due to the blood she consumes. The child is half a vampire. Of course, it would have the craving. Meaning it will no longer have to feed on its mother. That's the best guess they've come up with so far.
Rudy assumes this is what puts Edward's mind at ease. He isn't a total ass anymore. For example, today he is on his hands and feet making sure Bella is comfortable. As he should. Duh.
"C-Can we order a pizza or something? I'm starving." Bella smiles shyly at her husband. All he does is grin down at her. His amber eyes which usually shine like honey in the sun grow big at the sight of her gleeful expression.
"Of course." He says and makes his way into the kitchen. Rudy hears him dial a number on his phone. The little beeps of the keypad click in her ears.
She sighs before leaning further into Jasper's side. They have been sitting on the matching sofa to the left of the living room. Trying their best to give company.
