There is only one balcony in this entire glass house. Jasper Hale does have some very nice skills when it comes to working with his hands.

As if he was always meant to create instead of destroy. She will have to remind him of this later.

Light pinks and rich oranges fill the early morning sky as the sun begins to rise over the trees. Rudy sits as close to the dark grey iron railing as she can. Wanting to feel the warmth that the brewing gold light offers.

She woke beneath his brown sheets. Jasper wasn't in the room. Something that's been happening lately. Whatever tension that's been between them has only gotten stronger. She can see why.

Their friendship is standing on its last legs it seems. No one is bold enough to expose their true feelings.

Even she can see how her feelings are starting to grow for him. Jasper no longer tries to hide his.

Always gripping the back of her shirt to pull Rudy close when she walks too far ahead of him at school. Having to be holding her hand when no one is looking their way. She loves it all.

Rudy can't stop looking into his eyes. Yes, they are a beautiful shade of amber. Slightly darker than the rest of the Cullens. But they hold such deep emotions. So many devastating memories that she wants to erase or make better.

The girl shakes her head free of the images of those women biting into Jasper's arms when the sliding glass doors open from behind her.

"Cold?" His Southern drawl is always music to her ears. It's so much better than hers.

She smiles as he takes a seat down next to her. The blonde vampire then places a steaming mug of hot chocolate between her shivering hands. Knowing she likes that stuff better than normal coffee.

Rudy always does have to be better than most. It is just her nature.

Her green eyes go wide in surprise. "Thank you."

Jasper tips his head. A small smile on his lips. The simple navy blue sweater he wears makes his pale skin even whiter. He looks handsome. Delicious.

Rudy forces her eyes to look elsewhere before she starts to drool. That big yellow throw blanket she'd wrapped around her shoulders earlier suddenly makes her all sweaty. Which is surprising due to the chilled air.

After a moment of silence listening to the trees speak, Rudy asks Jasper something.
Nerves build inside her chest like a mountain of fire.

"Do you think the wolves will help us?"

"Honey, you know Jake better than me. What do you think?"

Rudy sighs and leans over slightly to where her head rests on Jasper's shoulder. He welcomes her touch. She notices his hands twitch. As if he is forcing himself to not touch her further.
