Weeks have begun to bleed into one another. The days become full of laughter and less rudeness coming from her.
Rudy has firmly adapted to her new life in Forks, Washington. Her daily routine of going to school, hanging out with Jake and Bella after, and falling asleep to the sounds of the forest is awesome.
She no longer feels the need to show off her amazing Texas accent in front of Jessica. It isn't all that fun anymore. Rudy starts to slowly become friends with everyone in the school.
Angela now sits with them in some classes too. Their talks are absolutely wild. That girl sure loves to know all about the boys from Texas. Doesn't hurt anyone when those talks are kept between them.
Mike is a different story. Rudy can't seem to get along with that asshole. He will strike up a hateful conversation with her any chance he gets. Rudy believes he is jealous of her friendship with the Swan girl.
And let's not forget that everyone won't drop the name 'Rude Jane'...like ever.
Rudy plans to have it engraved on her headstone one day. It seems like a splendid idea.
Bella even has started to brighten up. Her eyes are no longer purple underneath. She doesn't have nightmares anymore. Color now flushed her cheeks throughout the day.
Rudy feels very responsible somehow. Like her coming to Forks awakened whatever Edward shoved away inside of Bella.
Secretly, she hopes he will never come back. Because if he does Rudy knows he will have Bella wrapped around his finger. She is just that fragile. Her heart is so willing to let him back in.
She doesn't want that to happen ever. Over her dead body.

"I haven't heard from Jake at all this week," Bella sighs as she holds the door open for Rudy.
The other girl frowns deeply. Noting how Bella didn't really meet her eyes. She keeps fidgeting with her hands though. Picking at her chipped pale blue polish.
Rudy shifts her gaze. "Well, that's not like the kid. I'm sure he's just busy with his own school stuff."
Bella shrugs as if she isn't totally convinced herself. This puzzles Rudy a little. She says nothing nothing more and flips the metal cap of her soda can. Her ears welcome the familiar fizzing sound.
"You're going to get kidney stones from drinking so many of those." Bella shakes her head in a dismissing manner. Clearly concerned about her friend's drinking habit.
She's never going to not drink them after Bella started special ordering them at the hiking store. In doing so the store has gained more business. It appears that there are more people from different states who enjoy the taste of the best soda in the country.
