Sunday is the day that is meant for relaxation at home with a pen and her journal in hand. Not just laying in bed staring at the ceiling doing absolutely nothing but sulking.

It's not like Rudy can turn off her brain and pretend not to be mad at Jake for ditching her best friend. It isn't going to be that easy.

Instead of staring out the window to gaze upon the gloomy green trees, Rudy sits up with a heavy sigh. Loads of curly hair fall all over her face. Those big grass-green eyes droop sad in many ways.

She hasn't found the courage to initiate conversation outside of the classroom with Bella for quite some time. Out of fear of being rejected. How silly is that? Rude Jane is not supposed to be afraid of the unknown. It's just not her.

Rudy carelessly shoves away at the sunset orange blanket and climbs out of bed. Her red plaid pajama pants drag across the floor when she begins to find some decent clothes to wear for the day.

She chooses a deep blue shirt and pairs it with green cargo pants. They go well with her Converse. Rudy smiles just as she tugs on her bright yellow rain jacket as well. Never has she felt so complete.

Before heading down the attic ladder Rudy hunts for the little messenger bag that Aunt Jane gifted her through the mail just two weeks ago. It had been meant as a late birthday gift. The girl has used it every day since despite its rough look.

She finds the khaki-colored bag hanging on a coat rack at the back of the large room. It has all her most valuable things inside. A small pencil pouch filled with different colored pens, her doodle book, whatever she is currently reading, and maybe the occasional pack of Skittles.

Rudy grips it across her shoulders and descends the ladder but not before pulling her hair back with a scrunchy. The rich brown locks are so thick that she doesn't have to loop the band twice around.

Aunt Jane is finishing tearing down Halloween decorations in the living room when Rudy skips in.

"Oh, where ya headed off too?" She asks in her usual chilly voice.

For once it doesn't totally irritate Rudy. The girl just smiles right back. She actually has a few questions of her own to answer.

Rudy plops down on the dark brown leather couch with a huff and pulls her bag into her lap. "Can I have some makeup? Or at least have some cash to go buy some?"

It's like the Fourth of July hit all over again for Aunt Jane. Her honey eyes go wide with sudden glee. Her voice becomes high in a scream.

She pounces upon Rudy with a massive hug. Her arms grip her niece in the most glorious of all embraces.

"I've waited for long for us to bond like this!" She grins madly.

"You have?" Rudy asks, suddenly very afraid of this crazy woman.
