Adoption!

Tim's POV
I wake up to Lucy hugging me tighter as she woke up.
"Good morning my Fiancé." I tell her.
"Morning Bro." She giggles.
"Wow!" I say fake frowning.
"Morning handsome." She  corrects herself.
"That's better." I tell her giving her a kiss.

Eventually we get out of bed and carry our morning as usual. When we arrive to station Lucy and I walk over to Nyla and Angela to see if they will notice the ring.
"Hey guys!" Lucy says happily.
"Why are you so cheerful?" Asks Nyla.
"Wait.. TIMOTHY YOU DID NOT!" Angela exclaims when she sees the ring on Lucy's finger.
"Do what?" I smirk and shrug.
"YOU PROPOSED!" Angela carries on and the grabs Lucy's hand to inspect it.
"No shit." I tell her grumpily.
"Jeez for someone who just got engaged your grumpy." Harper laughs.
"Did I hear something about engaged?" John asks as he walks over.
"Yeah! These two are getting married finally!" Angela says so excited for I don't know why.
"Bout time." Celina says.
"He took me out all day even to the beach then to dinner and had the girls set up a movie night and then he proposed!" Lucy smiles.
"BEACH?!" Aaron exclaims joining the group.
"Yeah, can you believe that?" I ask him. "The girls called me a simp when I told them. To be fair it was 2AM." I explain.
"Why is everyone standing around and not doing their jobs?" Grey asks as he sees our group.
"Sir! Tim and Lucy got engaged!" Angela shares.
"Angela if you tell one more person I will assume your marrying Lucy." I huff.
"I would but I'm already taken." Angela shrugs.
"Agreed." Says a few others and I look at Lucy.
"Your lucky, If we get divorced I got a line of men waiting." She teases, I just roll my eyes.
"Alright, you lot need to get to work. Also congratulations to Tim and Lucy." Grey says and then wonders off and so does everyone else.
"Also we need to talk to the girl tonight." Lucy tells me, kisses me and skips off. Cute.

Lucy's POV
After what felt like an eternity shift was finally over, I get changed and grab y bag and run straight to Tim's office where I know he will be doing a mountain of paperwork. I see him sitting at his desk so I run over and attack him with a hug.
"Hey gorgeous." He tells me.
"Hi!" I tell him as I let go from the hug to see what he's doing. Paperwork, just like I had thought. I grab a pen and take half of the things that need to be filled out so he can just sign.
"What are you doing Luce?" He asks.
"I'm helping." I tell him as I start to check boxes on the page.
"So, this morning you told me we had to talk to the girls tonight, what's that about?" Tim asks me as he keeps signing.
"I'm going to adopt Tamara officially. Yesterday after you proposed she looked sad, I figured she felt that we all would be real family and she wouldn't." I tell him hoping he's on board.
"Ok, well how about we make her official Dad me and you officially Lexi's Mum." He smiles.
"Really?" I ask surprised.
"I mean just so it's official, you already are." He tells me as he signs the last paper.
"Ok! Let's go tell our daughters!" I say as we get up.

We head back home and when we arrive we find the girls in Lexi's room doing each others make up.
"Hey girls!" I say as we walk in.
"Hey Mum, Hey Dad!" They both say with a smile.
"Uh, why so much make up?" Tim asks looking at them with a full face of make up on.
"Well we got bored so we just wanted to play around with it and do each others make up. Mum it's appropriate right, it's not like we are going anywhere we might just make some Tiktoks."  Tamara says with a shy smile.
"It's fine, but girls we have some news." I tell them. "Tamara I'm going to adopt you, Tim as your Dad." I tell Tamara who instantly burst out in tears.
"Lex, we are going to make Lucy your official Mum too, so basically she's adopting you too." Tim tells the other girl who also starts crying.
"Tamara you can stay a Collins or become a Bradford so then we will all have the same last name when Tim and I get married." I tell Tamara who is cradled in my arms.
"Can I change my name to be Tamara Collins Bradford?" She asks.
"Of course, we will all be Bradford's." I tell them and pull everyone in for a hug.

2 weeks later Tamara's POV
I can't believe I'm going to be a Bradford today. We all drive down to the courthouse which is where a judge will choose whether Tim and Lucy are fit parents, but I'm sure we will be fine. When we get there we walk in and find out where we have to go. Mum and Dad lead the way to the room since they have been here lots for work. We walk into the judges office and all take a seat.
"Hi." Lexi and I say.
"Tim Bradford." Dad says as he shakes her hand and Mum does the same.
"Ok, so tell me your case." She says.
"We are getting Married, I've been Tamara's legal guardian for a while, but we've decided we want to be a family so Tim and I want to adopt her. Tamara would also like to change her name so her current last name is her middle name and her last name to be Bradford." Lucy starts.
"Also Alexis is my adopted daughter so we want to make Lucy her adoptive mother as well." Tim adds.
"Ok, do you guys have criminal record?" The judge asks. I giggle a bit waiting for them to pull out their badges.
"Sergeant Bradford. Badge Number ____" Tim announces pulling out his badge.
"Detective Chen. Badge Number ______" Lucy adds pulling her badge out. (IDK THEIR BADGE NUMBERS SORRY!)
"Oh ok I'll take that as a no. Ok, well Alexis and Tamara may you tell me if you think they are suitable parents?" Asks the judge.
"Tim and Lucy are already basically my parents. We both call them Mum and Dad, we want to make it official since I honestly feel left out that Mum would at least be Lexi's step-mum but I wouldn't part of the family officially, They are definitely suitable because they set a good example and care." I say putting my whole heart into it.
"I would love to have Lucy be my real Mum, she's definitely suitable to be my Mum because she cares, she helps me and she's already basically my mum but like everyone said we want it to be official." Lexi tells the judge.
"Ok, well I'm going to do some quick background checks just to make sure everything's good, so come back in 20 minutes to sign the papers!" The woman tells us with a smile.
"Thank you ma'am." Tim says as we leave the room. We go off and have some lunch while we wait.

Lucy's POV
"I can't believe I'm about to be a Bradford!" Tamara jumps up and down as we walk back to the court house.
"Lucky, I need to wait ages!" I complain.
"Who said ages? What if we get married right now?" Tim asks.
"I would but I want a ceremony and all that!" I giggle. We get back to the judges office and she greets us.
"Ok, so I found nothing wrong so you guys just need to sign these." The judge tells us. Tim and I grab a pen and read through everything and sign.
"All done." We tell her, she checks it's all singed.
"Ok, well have a good day Bradford's. The girls updated birth certificates will be sent in the mail within a month." She tells us.
"Thank you." We all smile and leave. As soon as we leave we all hug.
"How about we go get some celebratory ice-cream?" Tim suggests.
"Yes!" Lexi giggles and starts running to the door with Tamara's hand in hers.
"I think introducing them to each other was our best choice yet." I tell Tim.
"Agreed, plus if they hadn't met we wouldn't be getting married." Tim answers as we walk out the door after the girls.
