Chapter 31

Jackson

I wake up with a pounding headache.

It's Monday morning and I spent the entire weekend in bed or at practice.

I hear the ringing of my phone and turn over.
I groan and reach over to turn off my alarm clock and roll back over to go back to sleep.

I don't know how much time passes, but I wake up to the sound of banging on my door.

"Dude get up," I hear muffled from beyond the door.
Wes.

"Umpppffph," I groan and stuff my head into the pillow.

"Stop being a little bitch," he says as he opens the door.

I sit up and I can feel one side of my face being numb almost from sleeping on it.
"Dude so fucking what Ameeriah doesn't like you back. It's like 3PM and you've been acting depressed all weekend."

He walks to the other side of my room and bends down to pick up something. "And put on a fucking shirt," he says and he tosses a t-shirt in my face.

"I'm not depressed," I groan as shove the t-shirt over my head and climb out of bed.
"You need to eat something," Wes says as he walks out of my room without bothering to shut the door.

I walk into the kitchen and feel the coldness of the hardwood floor on my feet.
I slump down into the chair.

"Here," Wes shoves a bag of Chick Fil A in front of me.
"Awh," I say sarcastically as I open the bag.

"Adare made me go get it," he rolls his eyes.
"So she knows?"
"Ya," he says as he steals a fry and stuffs it into his mouth.

"Fuck you this is mine," I say as I pull the fries closer to me.
"Fuck you I bought them," he says as he grabs another.

"Did you tell her that I'm a lame loser and Ameeriah ran for the hills the second I told her I cared about her?"
"Oh my gosh," Wes rolls his eyes. "Get over yourself man. So what that Ameeriah didn't say she liked you back."

"I'll have you know that you were the one who told me to stop sleeping around and try to find someone," I pause. "I actually find someone I really care about and I scare her off the moment I tell her that." I stop talking and stick a fry into my mouth and sigh. "I don't even know why I'm telling you this, you're in like the healthiest relationship known to man you're not gonna understand."

"I'll have you know, Adare ran for the hills like, multiple times. You can't just fucking sulk, you gotta keep trying or move on."

I just shake my head and keep eating.
"I'm not even mad at her either, I'm literally just fucking upset like what the fuck is this," I add.
Wes laughs lightly. "You're so fucked."
