Ameeriah

Tonight is that party that all of the team is forced to go to.
Jackson and Wes have whined about it all day.

"He's such a fucking dick," Jackson groans as we're all sitting on the couch.
"You're so dramatic Jackson you love parties," Adare laughs as she sits by Wes, with his arms around shoulders.

"I do love parties but I don't like him," Jackson says defensively.

"Did we even meet him last semester when we had went?" Adare turns around to look at Wes.
"I don't really remember," Wes says.

"You don't remember because last semester's party you were seeing red," Jackson says from sitting beside me. I've got my legs over his and his arms are draped across my legs.
Wes immediately rolls his eyes and shakes his head slightly.

"What happened last semester?" I say, confused, with a little bit of a scrunched face.
"Wessy got a little angry when Eric talked to Adare," Jackson says like it's humorous.

"No," Wes interrupts. "He didn't just talk to her, he tried to fucking kiss her and he's just a whore anyways. I fucking hate that guy."

Jackson starts to laugh. "I've never seen Wes so mad and I watch him slam guys into walls on a daily. If Wes would've gotten a hold of Eric, kid would've been a goner."

Wes just shakes his head a little bit and Jackson continues. "BUT who saved the day?" He smiles. "Huh? Huh?" He holds his goofy smile and then goes, "It was me, I'm the one who saved the day."

Adare groans and rolls off the couch. "I guess I should start getting dressed now."
"Yeah me too," I say and follow her into the bathroom.

We're leaving in about fifteen minutes and my hair won't cooperate.
I don't realize how much I'm visibly annoyed until Jackson says, "are you good?" And kinda laughs.

"This fucking hair," I groan.
"I love your hair," he says softly as he walks into the bathroom.

"I can't get it to look right," I say with my hands above my head, trying to put my hair in a ponytail.
"Can I try?" He says as he stands behind me and looks at me through the mirror.

I look at him and give him a really? look.
But I'm not getting anywhere so I pass the hair tie to him.

He gathers my hair in his hands and bunches it up to put the hair tie around it.
I have thick hair and I do have thicker rubber bands but they still barely hold my hair.

When he pulls the hair tie around it and twists, he twists a little too big and it snaps.
"Ameeriah it broke," he says like it's a defective hair tie.

I laugh a little and hand him another hair tie on the counter.
He continues and gets to the exact same place he was at the last time. I try to hold myself back from laughing because his hands are so big and he's struggling.
He's so focused.

I hear the snap of the band.
"Ameeriah I—" As he's speaking, I just silently hand him another hair tie.

He tries again, wrapping it around once and I think we're in the clear this time.
...Until I feel the tightly gathered hair loosen and I hear the snap of the band.

"Ameer—"
"How about I just do it?" I say quickly as I grab another hair tie before Jackson breaks all of them.
