Quickly Saint followed Eve as she led him down into her basement.

He'd never seen this room before, it was different than the medical room she had upstairs.

It was advanced, of course still not as advanced as an actual hospital, but definitely decent.

"what is this?" Saint questioned, looking around.

"It's what I had built when Adam got too sick for me to take care of him upstairs—lay Khalil down, quickly." Eve replied, all while prepping both herself and the equipment.

Saint carefully and cautiously did what she said, keeping his eyes glued to Khalils as he did so.

"Why ain't he waking up?" Saint asked.

"—it's hard to tell right now, what happened to you two?"

"Purge night." He said simply.

"—he fell on his stomach." Saint then added, shaking his head.

"..I see." Eve frowned.

"Okay, this is alright—I can fix this." She nodded, approaching an IV drip.

"He's still breathing, which is good." She told Saint as she prepared the needle for Khalils skin.

"So what are you gonna do?" He asked, growing more and more impatient by the second.

"—well...I...I think we're gonna have to do an emergency C-section." She told Saint cautiously.

"What!?"He immediately questioned, eyebrows creased.

"The babies would've been due sometime next week anyways, it's best we get those babies out now before we risk something fatal." She explained.

"That doesn't explain how we're gonna wake Khalil up.." Red replied lowly, dropping his hands to his sides as he eyed her.

Eve of course took note of Saints expression, as it was one she'd never seen before, his entire demeanor has changed in a matter of seconds.

To his credit, Saint kept her apart from a really bad side of himself, he didn't want to show it... but if Khalil didn't wake up—better yet if Eve didn't wake him up...then—yeah.

"Hun," she began, looking up at the large man almost sympathetically.

"I can assure you that all three of your loved ones will be okay." Eve nodded, "I won't let anything happen to them."

Her words were sincere, or at least sounded sincere to Saint, but all he could do was stare.

His heart and mind were feeling so many new and different things that he almost felt like he was looking at himself in the third person—a spectator in his own body.

"Y-you got to," Saint mumbled, his usual deep and emotionless tone, replaced by an almost certainly desperate and fearful one.

Eve again took note of that, and while she could tell Saint would go to great lengths to save both Khalil and their unborn children, it was clear a lot of his psyche rode on the survival and wellbeing of Khalil.
