"Is that everything?" I asked, looking over at Saint, who entered the passenger side door of his truck

"yeah, it's all packed, is it a baby bag back 'dere?" he replied, turning to check the back seat where the twins were.

"yeah, it should be in the middle," I replied as I adjusted the mirrors.

"I see it," Saint spoke, returning to his forward-facing position.

Today, we were finally hitting the road for Texas.

To say I was ready would be an understatement; I had definitely grown tired of staying in a hotel. For the first couple of days, while I recovered, it was fine, but of course... after a while, it just got a tad depressing.

I was ready to sleep in a Home.

A safe one at that, one I could raise the babies in, and one where I could find some sense of a mundane, normal life.

I can say I grew up almost resenting how cookie-cutter my life could be, but no, in the last year, I think I've endured enough to where that no longer sounds as bad as it used to, of course without all the trauma this time around.

Once Saint and I got back to the room after shopping last night, we agreed that the following morning we'd start driving. I wasn't in too much pain anymore, and I felt that I was healing well enough that moving shouldn't be too much of a risk.

Right now, it was exactly 3:39 am on the clock, early, but necessary, specifically because the drive from here to Dallas would take roughly up to a day.

It also worked out that I finally got the chance to drive Saints' truck yesterday, since splitting up a bit of the driving just helped better, especially with the twins.

"Ready?' I asked, looking over as Saint slowly strapped on his seat belt,

"Yeah." he replied, nodding

With that, I switched gears and began to pull out of the hotel parking lot, overcome with a sense of release as I drove farther and farther away, leaving so much of the past in the distance as I did so.
