"Does anyone else realize how unnormal this is?" Khalil spoke, referencing the purge announcement that had just went across the screen.

I only chuckled lowly in response before standing to my feet.

I had already locked up the house a couple of minutes before the announcement, but I still wanted to double-check shit before getting too distracted.

There wasn't really much thought in my mind about somebody fucking with me of all people, but still—Khalil was pregnant, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

"—I can't wait to never hear it again but I feel like it's gonna be in nightmares even after we leave." He stated, shaking his head and eyeing the television screen which had just flickered back onto the movie we'd been watching.

" I doubt that," I told him, tucking two pistols in my waistband.

"Mh—well I'm saying it will." He replied, but before he started talking he groaned a little, something small—but I noticed.

I noticed everything now, especially the small shit.

"you okay?" I questioned, eyebrow raised slightly.

"Yeah—hm—I think I sat up too fast." He explained.

"—Are there any leftovers from the other night?" He added in question.

"Nah but I'll cook sum', what you want?" I asked, making my way over to the kitchen.

"I don't know, can you choose?" He asked.

As usual, I shook my head and smirked at his antics before speaking,

"BLTs?" I suggested.

"My daughters would hate that," he shook his head, grimacing at the thought.

I straight-faced him before speaking, "how my son's feelin' about steak?"

This time he was the one to straight face me, but only momentarily before he broke into a smile.
