Alice had never seen her brother drink so much in one night. He was completely wasted. The perks of being twenty two. Alice had a bottle of beer herself, trying to stay sober enough to drive them home, if they were even going to leave tonight.
"Have another," Tobi handed her a cold beer.
"Oh, I really shouldn't." Alice smiled politely.
"Come on, it's a party!" Tobi cheered, gesturing to all the drunk people around her.
"Okay, but only one more." Alice agreed, taking the bottle out of his hand and opening it. She watched the chaos around her, downing the bottle. Her small frame couldn't handle the intake, and she was drunk within seconds.
She wandered over to the kitchen for another beer when she caught a glimpse of Simon standing out on the balcony. Quickly, she picked up another beer and stumbled outside to Simon.
Alice wasn't an obnoxious drunk. She was basically herself, only more open to the world. No secrets, nothing she was hiding. Everyone would get a correct answer if they asked her a question.
"Hi Simon." She smiledat the boy, standing next to him at the railing.
"Hey." Simon continued to look out over the city. She had to admit, the view was beautiful from Tobi's apartment.
"It's so pretty." Alice told him as if he didn't already know.
"Yeah, almost as pretty as you." Simon knew she was drunk. He knew she wouldn't remember this encounter in the morning, so he used it to his advantage. Brilliant.
"Awe, Simon. I'm not that pretty.." She responded.
"Shut up Ali, you know you are." Had Simon just used Josh's nickname for her? She felt a pang of sadness as he said it.
"I'm sorry, did-did you just call me... Ali?" Alice could barely say it herself.
"Yeah, I did. Heard Josh call you it once when he was telling us about you." Simon explained, as if he's hurt her feelings.
"Oh, okay." So he did remember her nickname. Then why hadn't he used it? "I'm gonna head inside, it was nice talking to you." She stood.
"Nice talking to you too Ali, feel free to stop by my room anytime if you ever need anything..." Simon made sure to add before she slipped out of his fingertips.
"I will, don't worry." Alice responded before slipping back inside.
The music was blaring, she almost felt bad for the neighbors. But, it was a party, and they would probably get shut down by the police or the flat staff very soon.
"Hey, Alice!" Josh called to her from across the flat. He made his way through the small crowd, smiling at everyone. He was such a happy person when he was drunk.
"Hello." Alice responded quietly.
"How's everything going for you so far?" Josh asked, being the protective brother she knew and loved.
"How come you stopped calling me Ali?" It just slipped out of her mouth, she didn't mean to cause the look of hurt that fell across his face after she mentioned it.
"I stopped calling you Ali because that was part of our past life, and I don't want to be stuck in our past life. I want to live in the now, where I can call you Alice like an adult." Josh explained, sadness washing over his every feature.
"But I don't want to be an adult." Alice responded, "Please, please call me Ali again. I miss the old you so much." She was almost in tears. She became very emotional when she was drunk.
"Fine, I'll call you Ali again. I didn't mean to change..." He looked sadder than ever at this point.
"Joshua, I-I wanna go home." Alice broke then, in that moment she let a tear slip.
"I know, Ali I know." Josh pulled her into a hug, gripping her tightly.
"I want to go home." Alice sobbed again.
"Soon, soon." Josh cooed, and Alice blacked out as he lead her over to Tobi's couch.
She woke up in someone else's bed. Quickly she glanced around for any sign of life or where she was. Nothing. She got out of bed, finding her phone on the nightstand. Hundreds of notifications across her phone screen. She had a horrible headache, not something to be proud of. She'd done to much drinking last night.
"No, Harry!" She heard an unfamiliar voice call from outside the door.
"Harry?" She whispered to herself. Was she in Harry's bedroom? How did she end up here? A million questions flooded her mind. Where was Josh?
At that thought, she ran out of the room, into the living room where Harry and two other boys sat. One was Josh, luckily, and the other, she didn't know.
"Alice, this is Callum, or Freezy, as we like to call him around here." Harry explained. Another tall blonde for her to remember. Great.
"Hello, I'm Alice." She waved at him, pressing her other hand to her forehead.
"Hangover?" Josh asked, laughing slightly.
"Yep, hey? Can we go now? I wanna get back to the house and take a shower." Alice's question came out more like a demand.
"Sure," Josh smiled at the two boys.
"Bye Josh!" Freezy called as they left.
"Bye Freezy!" Josh responded.
"See-ya later Alice!" Harry smiled at her.
"See-ya Harry!" Alice responded, smiling back at him.
"You must be tired." Josh asked as soon as they left the flat.
"I am. What happened last night?" She asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Well, you blacked out in my arms, Harry offered to let you stay at his flat because it was down the hall and quiet, you feel asleep on his bed, I slept on the couch, and Harry slept in the bed with you." Josh explained.
"Harry slept... with me?" She questioned.
"Yeah, just so we had someone who was not drunk to watch over you. Trust me, he didn't do anything. I would have killed him." Alice felt reassured by her brothers words, but it was only her second day, and she'd already slept with one of the Sidemen.
