Alice emerged from her bedroom early that next morning. She ran down to Vik's room as fast as she could, but there was no point, he wasn't there. she turned around, standing still in the doorway of his room. Where was he?
"Josh!" Alice screamed. "Josh where is he?!" But she got no response. No answer. No one was home.
"JJ?" She asked, running over to his door and knocking. "JJ are you in there?!" Still no reply.
No one was here. She didn't even want to risk yelling for Simon, because he would just ignore her anyway.
She pulled her phone out of her back pocket and slid down the wall next to JJ's door. Alice pulled up Josh's contact and called him.
"Alice? Are you alright?" He automatically answered.
"Yeah, I'm-I'm okay. Where are you guys?"
"We went out. I left a note on your door, didn't you see it?"
Alice put her hand against her head, "No, no I didn't." She sighed.
"I'm sorry, were you worried? Are you worried?" Alice heard a familiar voice in the background of the call. It was Vik.
"Yeah, worried about Vik." Alice scrunched her eyebrows.
"Oh, we found him. That's why we went out."
"You found him? But you didn't take me?" Alice was hurt. Josh knew that Alice was dating Vik.
"Yeah, uh, sorry. I know he's your boyfriend and all but you were asleep and I-I couldn't wake you."
"Can I speak with him?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, yeah of course. Here, Vik it's Alice." He handed the phone off to Vik.
"Hello?" His familiar voice rang through Alice's ears.
"Vik!" She sighed, relieved that it was him.
"Alice, Alice I-"
"Vik come home." Alice cut him off, worried.
"Okay, right. I'm just down the street. We should be back soon."
"I'm coming out to greet you." Alice stood up, already making her way down the steps and out the door.
"Okay. We are almost at the front steps." Vik informed.
Just then Alice saw him. She saw Josh and Ethan. JJ and Simon, Tobi. All of them. But all she cares about was Vik. She jumped down the steps and bolted toward him. Vik smiled when he saw her, and wrapped his arms around her small frame.
"Vik." She whispered into his shoulder.
"Alice." He whispered back.
"I missed you." Alice tightened her grip on him.
"I missed you so much more." Vik kissed her cheek.
"I don't think that's possible." Alice leaned back so she could look into his eyes.
"It is very possible." Vik laughed, letting her go. He placed his hand in hers and they began to walk up the steps back into the house.
"Ew, stop being all relationship goals-y" Simon complained.
"Shut up Simon. Your not supposed to talk to me." Alice rolled her eyes. That shut him up.
"C'mon Alice. We have some things to catch up on." Vik pulled her up the steps and into his room, shutting the door behind them.
He pushed Alice back against the door, and kissed her on the lips. Alice could tell he'd been waiting a while to do that to her. She couldn't lie, she enjoyed it.
"I guess you want to know why I'm wearing your sweatshirt?" Alice questioned, giggling.
"Nah, I already know."
"Really?" Alice said as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Really." Vik wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Promise me something?" Alice looked up into his eyes.
"What?" Vik looked down at her.
"Never. Ever. Leave me again." Alice smiled.
"I promise." He took a step back from her, "I'm really tired, and I wouldn't mind if my girl cuddled me while I try to fall asleep." He smiled suggestively.
"Actually, I have a few things I need to take care of, if you don't mind." Alice bit her lip.
"That's completely fine. I'll be here when you get back." Vik smiled at her.
"You better be. I'll see you in a few." She winked and headed out the door.
Alice was going to talk to Simon. She was going to straighten things out with him and find out why he'd been so mean to her before. She didn't like having enemies, even if they were assholes.
Alice approached his door cautiously, not knowing what was going on inside. She knocked and waited patiently for a reply. Eventually she heard Simon speak, "Come in." He turned when he heard the door open.
"Hey, Simon." Alice tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Hi, Alice." Simon stood, placing his headphones carefully on his desk.
"Look I just wanted to clear things up so we didn't have to keep our distance anymore."
"Right, I totally understand." Simon nodded his head, agreeing with her.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, why were to mad at me in the first place?" Alice put her hands in the pockets of her pants.
"Well, it all started at Tobi's party, when you found me on the balcony? Yeah, I guess I fell in love. But it was different with you. It was like, I could actually see a future with you. And then in the car, I tried to play it cool, say I just wanted to be good friends, but you agreed. I guess that just made me angry. So I didn't want to talk to you anymore. I'm over that now, clearly." Simon explained.
Alice had a hard time believing that she had been wrong. All this time, and Simon really did have a crush on her? It was almost impossible to believe. But now she was with Vik, and she was happy.
"Oh?", was all Alice could respond with.
"Yeah, but now your with Vik and I-I guess I really missed my chance." Simon's facial expression looked genuinely upset.
"I'm not gonna leave Vik." Alice informed him.
"Oh, yeah I know." Simon put his hand out in front of him, as if to stop the conversation from going the wrong way.
"So it's settled then? We are friends?" Alice asked.
"It's settled." Simon embraced Alice in a hug, "You can be the sister I never had." He laughed.
"Alice Zerker, sister of Joshua Zerker and Simon Minter, girlfriend of Vikram Barn. Friend of the Sidemen." Alice laughed.
"That sure is some tile."
"Yeah, I guess it is."
And with that, Alice felt better about herself. No more enemies. Just friends. Life was good.
