"Alice, you are... Not pregnant."
"Oh thank god..." Alice felt a weight being lifted off her shoulders.
"Good. I was worried for you guys. As you said many times, Josh would have killed you. Both of you." Jess smiled. She handed the test to Alice so she could see. It was in fact, negative.
"Thank you, Jessica. You've been a real help." Alice stood up, pulling Jess into a hug.
"Hey, anything for you." She smiled.
"Let's go tell the boys..." Alice said as she opened the bathroom door.
"Boys?" Jess called down the hall. Within seconds, the boys were stood in front of them.
"What is it? Are you pregnant?" Vik asked, taking Alice's hand.
"I am not pregnant." Alice smiled.
"Oh." Vik sighed.
"That's great! We were so worried about nothing!" Mitch highfived Alice.
"I know, I'm so happy!" Alice smiled at the group.
Alice had noticed the change in expression on Vik's face. He looked... Sad?
"Vik, are you okay?" She asked. Mitch and Jess had started their own conversation.
"Yeah, yeah. I just-I just need to go and think for a little while." He pushed past Alice and went to their shared room. Why was he upset about this?
"What's up with him?" Jess asked, pulling Alice out of her thoughts.
"I-I don't know. I'm kinda worried."
"Why don't you go and try to talk to him?" Mitch took Jess's hand.
"Okay, yeah... I probably should." Alice spun on her heels and walked down the hallway.
"Vik?" She knocked before opening the door. Vik was sitting on the bed, head in his hands. "Vikram?"
"What do you want, Alice? Can't I ever be left alone for more than five seconds?" He sighed.
"Babe, what's wrong?" Alice crossed the room.
"Ugh, it just sucks, you know?"
"What sucks?" Alice approached him slowly, sitting down next to him.
"You not being pregnant."
Alice took a deep breath, "You wanted me to be pregnant?" She was shocked.
"Well, no, but what if that means you can't ever get pregnant?"
"Oh come on Vik! Don't think like that! We have a few years to figure that out..." Alice placed a hand on his back and rubbed in small circles.
"But, what if it's true? What then?" He cried, leaning against Alice.
"Well, then we can adopt. There are plenty of kids in the world who don't have homes. And we'd love that child just the same as we would our own." Alice explained. Clearly, she wasn't very worried.
"It just wouldn't be the same, you know? The kid wouldn't even look like either of us, let alone act like either of us." Vik was still upset, and Alice knew that nothing she would say would change his mind on the subject.
"Stop worrying! Let's enjoy the last two days we have here. At least Josh isn't going to kill either of us!" Alice laughed.
"True, I guess." Vik only slightly laughed.
"Come on, let's get our minds off of it... Want something to drink?" Alice smirked.
"No, what I want is you." Vik returned, pushing her down on the bed and climbing on top of her.
"Vik!" She giggled as he smashed his lips onto hers.
"Shhh." He silenced her, kissing down her cheekbone and then proceeding to her neck.
"Vik, seriously..." Alice gripped his shoulders.
"What did I tell you?" Vik slid his hand down her body, firmly placing it on her hip. He continued to work on kissing her body.
"Ah, fuck it." Alice gave in. She needed a little affection in her life. Plus Vik had already somehow removed her clothing.
She sighed, taking in his scent. Alice hadn't had this much pleasure in weeks. This was exciting to her.
Eventually, he finished, falling next to her on the bed.
"Well," She sighed, exhausted.
"That was... Pleasant." Vik smiled as he pulled the sheets over them both.
"I'm happy I decided to just go with it." Alice giggled.
"Aren't we all?"
"True."
Alice's phone vibrated on the night table next to them.
Joshua;
Alice are you okay? What happened this morning? Mitch DMed me on Twitter and told me that you had a rocky start to your day. He's been keeping me updated these past few days...Alice;
I'm fine. Nothing to worry about.Joshua;
Then tell me what happened?Alice;
Nah, it's not worth it. Just a waste of time.Joshua;
As your brother you should tell me. I'm not going to stop asking.Alice;
Then I'll stop replying. Love you<33Joshua;
Seriously, Alice Emily?Alice;
Seriously. Bye Joshie!Joshua;
Fine. You'll tell me when you get home then?Alice didn't respond. She really didn't want to tell Josh about the pregnancy scare this morning. It wouldn't be worth it. She'd decided that it would remain a secret.
"What did Josh say?" Vik asked, rolling over so he could see over her shoulder.
"Nothing much. Just asking about what happened this morning. Apparently Josh has been keeping tabs on me this whole vacation." Alice explained, placing her phone back on the table. She flipped back toward Vik.
"Yeah, Mitch told me about that. Josh just wants to keep you safe. I understand." Vik rolled back over so Alice could see him.
"Don't you have a brother?" Alice asked.
"Yeah... I never see him very much anymore."
"We should take a trip down to Sheffield. I want to meet your family before I marry you. It's my way of saying thank you for having such a wonderful son." She giggled.
"Oh they would love you." Vik smiled.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean they would love you, simple as that. They have loved every single one of my girlfriends in the past." He slipped his hand into Alice's.
"Alright then, it's a plan. Tell your family we'll be around next week."
"Are you sure? It's quite a long train ride to Sheffield?" Vik furrowed his euebrows.
"I'm sure. I really want to meet them."
"Alright."
And with that, Alice fell asleep.
