Vikkstar123 @vikkstar123:
Won't be going to Pax today, Alice is very upset because of something personal. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Josh Zerker @zerkaa:
Sadly, I won't be attending Pax today either. Alice and I lost a very valuable part of our lives today.

Wedgeman Simon @miniminter7: Staying at the hotel to comfort Josh and Alice, the rest of the sidemen will be at the convention center for the whole day!

Alice had woken up to a horrible text message from her aunt. She'd barely said anything to anyone the whole day because of the message. It read:

Dear Alice,
Your mother was found last night outside a bar. Sadly, she was dead. The police are looking into the case right now. Hope all is well for you and Joshua, and my condolences for the loss of your mother.
Love, Aunt Jessica

Her mother was dead. Sure, she wasn't very nice to them at times, but that wasn't a reason to hate her. Josh and Alice loved her more than they'd loved anyone in forever. They only left because of the way their mother was changing. She was becoming drunken, and neither of them wanted to deal with that.

Josh, Simon, Alice and Vik had all decided to stay at the hotel in fear of looking weak in front of the fans. Plus, none of them really wanted to spend another day around fans. They were all tired.

The time was now 6:30 PM, and they all had a flight for 7:00 AM the next morning, so that meant they all had to get up at 5:00 AM. Josh and Simon were majorly tired, so they retreated to their room.

"I'm sure she's in a better place." Vik wiped a tear off Alice's face.

"Vik, she's dead! I'll never see her ever again for the rest of my life. She won't be able to witness me get married or have kids or have the chance to get better.  She's dead." Alice sobbed.

"Awe, baby. Come here." Vik wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. "It gets better. Trust me, I know."

"How do you know?" Alice continued to sob into his shoulder.

"My dad died when I was fifteen. It was hard at first, but then I realized that the sun would continue to rise and it wasn't the end of the world. Sure, I miss him but it's not worth crying over anymore. I'll see him again, hopefully." Vik started to tear up.

"I hope your right." For the first time since last night, Alice laughed slightly.

"Well, I think it's time for both of us to get to bed. We have a long flight ahead of us tomorrow." Vik stood up off the couch. Alice followed.

"Wait, let me make a video real quick for my followers. They need to know why I haven't been active all day."

"Okay, whatever you need to do..." Vik crawled into the bed as Alice walked into the bathroom and shut the door.

She opened up twitter and clicked the video button.

"Hey guys, Alice here. I just wanted to tell you that I'm okay, and so is Josh. it's just- our mother, she-she passed away last night. It's been very hard on Josh and I. Thank you for the respect and get well wishes, we really appreciate it. I'll see you all later, goodnight." Alice closed out the video and tweeted it to the fans.

Alice Zerker @alice_zerkaa:
Here you go guys, love you<3

Alice then left the bathroom, and joined Vik in bed. Almost as soon as her head hit the pillow, she fell asleep.

She dreamed of her mother and all the memories they had when their father was in the picture. She remembered Josh helping her bake and clean. She remembered having breakfast with the whole family and laughing with Josh. It was peaceful in the Zerker household back then, no fighting, no screaming. Then everything went south when Alice was about sixteen, the same year Josh left. Not very much before he did that, their father left, which changed their mother severely.

Alice woke up with a clear mind that very next morning, she realized what Vik said was true, That it didn't matter. She was in a better place, not on the earth that hurt her so much. She was happy.

Josh had had a realization overnight as well apparently, because the next morning he was about as fine as Alice. Maybe they both just needed that day to mourn.

The whole day seemed to pass by very quickly. Before she knew it, the plane ride was over, and she was back in the very familiar room that was Vik's. She was happy. She was at home.

All of the Sidemen stayed at the house for a while after they got home. Ethan and Tobi eventually left, but Harry was going to stay since he wanted to do a few videos with Josh and Simon. Vik and Alice went upstairs right away so he could do a quick How To Minecraft stream since he hadn't done one since they left for Pax. The viewers wanted him to incorporate Alice into the stream, so she took Vik's laptop and made a twitch account. Vik modded her and she started to interact with the fans.

The name 'omgitsalicez' was really catching for her, so she used that as her Twitch name. She thought it was creative.

The stream ended but Alice stuck around before the rest of the guys called them down for food. Alice couldn't pass up food.

"Yay! Pizza!" Alice cheered as she slipped down the steps.

"Calm yourself before you hurt yourself." Josh laughed as he saw her round the corner.

"Sorry!" Alice sighed, "I just really like pizza."

"We know." Harry laughed.

"Fantastic," Alice giggled.

They all settled down at the island and ate some pizza while Harry edited a video on his laptop.

"So Alice, Josh told us your a good singer?" Simon asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"I dabble in the singing arts, yes." Alice wiggled her eyebrows back.

"Can you sing something for us?" JJ asked.

"Do you want me to sing a slow version of Lambo?" Alice giggled.

"Hell yeah!" JJ smiled.

"I was joking. Besides, I do bad in front of crowds."

"She has social anxiety." Josh told the group.

"Oh, that's right." JJ nodded.

"Yep!" She sighed. "If I didn't, I would totally sing for you guys." Alice yawned. She was very tired from staring at the laptop screen for so long.

"Anyone up for a game of FIFA?" Josh asked, taking the subject off Alice.

"Sure! I'll play you." Harry shut the lid of his laptop.

"Well, come on then!" Josh waved them all into the living room. They all picked a seat.

Vik and Alice sat against the wall, considering there were no other seats and all the others stole the seats from the kitchen.

"Sucks you can't sing for me." Vik leaned his head on Alice's, who's head was already on his shoulder.

Alice closed her eyes, "Maybe I will sometime."

"Mmhm." Vik hummed. He wrapped his arm around her waist and neither of them said another word for the rest of the night.
