Josh had left Alice alone in her new room. She began to unpack what she had brought with her. A few tee shirts, some pairs of jeans and shorts, and some special nick knacks she didn't want to leave without. It wasn't really much because, well, she didn't have much. But it was a start. She was sure she would gain some items along the way.
"Alice?" Someone whispered, followed by a knock on her door.
"Yes?" Alice responded, putting down the shirt she was unpacking.
"We are heading to Tobi's flat, would you like to come?" The voice was Josh, it almost had to be. She didn't know any of the other boys yet, and it would have been weird if they were speaking to her now.
"Alright, but I can't promise you I won't leave your side." She opened the door causing Josh to fall in.
"Don't worry, I didn't expect you to do anything else." Josh had always been the caring kind, "Come on."
"Okay." Alice slipped her hand into Joshua's outstretched hand. He knew she got nervous around new people.
"Now, there are five boys downstairs. The one with the blue jumper and blond hair; that's Harry. There's another blonde, he's super tall and skinny. His name is Simon. Vik is the short one that has dark skin. JJ and Tobi-who isn't here- are the-I'm not trying to be racist-black ones, and Ethan's the loud one. You'll understand when we get down there." Josh informed. Alice nodded, already confused by all that Josh had just said.
"Oh-I..." Alice mumbled.
"Your going to be okay, trust me." Josh squeezed her hand for reassurance. It was something he'd often did for her.
"Don't leave my side!" Alice demanded, and Josh shook his head. She knew he would do no such thing tonight, but it was just an impulse to tell him.
They eventually made their way into the kitchen where all the boys were. Alice took a deep breath as all eyes turned to her. She smiled when she realized most of the boys were in awe of her. She'd never experienced so many jaws drop slightly when she walked in. She knew the boys must already like her.
"Hi, I'm Simon." The tall blonde. She remembered Josh saying something about him. He was handsome, a possible candidate for dating, if the time ever came.
"Hello Simon, I'm Alice." Alice was confident now. She wasn't afraid of the boys anymore.
"I'm Ethan." Another blonde. Great. She would probably get the two mixed up.
"Tobi."
"Vik."
"I'm Harold, but most people call me Harry."
"Hey, I'm JJ."
They all introduced themselves, and shook Alice's hand. Such gentlemen. Much to her dismay, she would learn later that half of them were no where close to being gentlemen.
"Now that you've all met my baby sister," Is that what Josh called her around his friends? "can we leave now?" Josh asked this like they had demanded to meet her. Strange.
"Yes. Josh? Are you driving your car?" Simon-she presumed- asked. She wasn't good with names.
"Yep. I'll take Alice and Vik if you take Ethan, JJ, and Harry?" Josh offered, grabbing his keys. Alice stayed close as he began to walk toward the front door.
"Will do." Simon responded, following.
All the boys and Alice poured out of the house and got into their respective cars. Vik called shotgun, so Alice had to sit in the back with Simon. Not something she minded, after all.
"So, Alice." Simon whispered, giving her a smile that made her melt.
"So, Simon." She mocked, smiling at him as well. Two could play at this game.
"Your cool. I like you." Simon judged her by her looks and the few things she had said to him.
"Thanks. I like you too." Alice enjoyed playing this game with him. She could see a future of friendship with him. Maybe even more than a friendship, if all goes well.
Josh and Vik went on about some video they planed to make when they got home, whilst Simon and Alice took selfies in the back of the car. Alice, posting hers to snapchat.
"Do you have a Twitter?" Simon asked.
"Yes, actually..." Alice responded. She hadn't used her Twitter since she was thirteen, and even then she had only used it to communicate with her friends.
"Do you mind sharing it?" Simon asked.
"Oh, of course." She gestured for Simon to hold out his phone so she could type the name into the search bar.
Her name was the first to pop up:
Alice Zerker @alice_zerkaa
Yes, she had copied half her name off of her brothers YouTube. But his name wasn't copyrighted, so being his sister, she thought she had the right to use it.
"Original." Simon scoffed, giggling a little at her name.
"Hey, yours isn't any better. Miniminter7." She returned fire.
"Better than stealing my brothers nickname!" Simon protested. Alice just laughed, not wanting to continue this conversation.
Wedgeman Simon SDMN @miniminter7:
With @alice_zerkaa, @Zerkaa, and @Vikkstar123 going to Tobi's house! He tweeted. Of course, Alice had to respond to the selfie he took of him smiling while she scrunched her face up in an exaggerated smile.
Alice Zerker @alice_zerkaa:
Hate you Minter. That was all she could come up with.
Simon glanced up at her, shaking his head and laughing when he looked back down.
"What's going on back there?" Josh asked as he looked into his rear view mirror, checking on the two to see if they were still alive.
"Nothing." Both of them responded.
"Keep you hands off my baby sister, Simon." Josh glared.
Since when does he call me 'baby sister'? Alice thought. It was new to her. He'd always just called her Alice or Ali when they were younger, not 'baby sister'. No, never. Always Ali. This was strange. Possibly something she would have to get used to. Maybe he's forgotten about the nickname he'd given her so many years ago. She wouldn't have been surprised.
"I'm not even touching her!" Simon put his hands up in surrender.
"I don't trust you Minter, never have." Josh said, visibly joking.
"I thought we were mates?!" Simon questioned.
Alice had tuned them out at that point, staring out the window at a huge complex of apartments. Tobi must live in one of these apartments. Woah, they were huge.
"Whatever, Simon. Just get out of the car." Josh laughed, bringing Alice back to reality.
It was time to relax and have a party with the Sidemen. Alice was very excited to be with a group of guys who were more famous than anyone she has ever met. It made her happy. She was excited for the night to come.
