Chapter 31// Morning Sickness

"Alice, are you alright in there?" Vik knocked on the bathroom door.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." Alice felt nauseous with every step she took this morning. This was not good.

"Do you need anything? Can I come in?"

"No, just stay out there please. I'm not feeling the best." Alice wasn't stupid, she knew this was what happened when some one is pregnant.

"Are you sure? I feel useless!" Vik cried.

"Actually, could you get me Jess? And then could you go and buy me a pregnancy test?" She hesitated.

"A-a pregnancy test?" He asked, clearly nervous.

"Yeah... A pregnancy test. If you don't mind."

"Alice? Are you pregnant?"

"Just go! Get me Jess first!"

"Right!"

Alice placed a palm against her forehead. Was she really pregnant? If she was this was a huge problem. Josh wouldn't be in anyway shape or form okay with this. She was dead if it was true.

"Alice? Vik said you needed me... Are you alright?" Jess knocked. Alice immediately opened the door for her.

"Jess, I-I think I might be pregnant."

"Pregnant?!" Jess screamed, probably waking the whole house.

"Shhh!" Alice silenced her, "Did Vik leave to get the test?"

"Of course. He left with Mitch."

"Mitch knows?" Alice sighed, sitting down. She felt a wave of nausea hit her.

"We had to tell him, Alice. He's the only one with a car, and he wasn't just going to let Vik take the car without knowing what was going on."

"Alright, whatever... Do you think I'm pregnant?"

"I don't know, have you and Vik had sex yet?"

"Yes! Many times in fact!"

"Have you not used protection?"

"We haven't even thought about it!" Alice started to breath rapidly, causing the nausea to get worse.

"Alright, calm down!" Jess sat down on the floor in front of her.

"Do you know how long it takes to get to the nearest drug store from Mitch's house?" Alice asked impatiently.

"Yeah, about ten minutes. Now calm the hell down. You're going to wake the whole house if you keep breathing so heavily." Jess joked.

"Ten minutes?!" Alice rested her elbow against the sink top.

"It'll be fine, Alice. Just calm down." Jess gripped Alice's other hand.

"What if I'm pregnant, Jess? What am I going to tell my brother? That I had unprotected sex when he told me not to?!" Alice didn't really care if she was pregnant, she just cared about her brother and how he would feel if it was true.

"Josh would be an uncle! He should be happy nonetheless!" Jess smiled.

"He's not going to be happy with this news." Alice sighed again, placing a hand on her stomach. "What would I even do with a child?"

"Look, maybe your not even pregnant. Maybe it's just the flu or something. We can't be sure just yet." Jess pitched.

It was almost hard for Alice to believe. To be pregnant at age twenty-one and nineteen. That would not go across well with Joshua or any of her other brother figures back at home.

"I really hope it comes out negative, then I will be able to take a deep breath." Alice tried to laugh, but she couldn't hide her nervousness.

"Don't worry. I have faith." Jess smiled.

"You have perfect teeth, you know." Alice said, trying to distract herself from the situation at hand.

"Thanks. It wouldn't be this way if I didn't get braces when I was younger. I was a complete nerd, glasses and everything." Jess giggled.

"I never pictured you as a nerd... I always pictured you as one of those rich kids in school..."

"Oh, no. My family was never rich." Jess shook her head.

"Well, I understand that now!" Alice giggled.

"Glad you do, wouldn't want you to think I'm a rich snob like half of Mitch's fans..."

"Do they really think that?" Alice asked, crossing her arms. She was disgusted.

"Of course. The fans will assume anything just to get attention from me. I just ignore all of them anyway." Jess scrunched up her face as if to say 'they all can suck it' in a more respectable manner than actually saying it.

"I'm glad Vik's fans rarely ever assume anything about me. I must be boring to them."

"Probably. Mitch's fans continuously call me hot and everything... It gets real annoying, real fast." Jess sighed.

"I couldn't even fathom that. Josh would probably be a little creeped out and take me off of the Internet." Alice laughed.

"It sucks to be a youtubers girlfriend sometimes... They get all wrapped up in the fans and in videos at times that it's like 'please show me love', you know?" Jess nodded slowly.

"Trust me, I know. I live in a house with four other youtubers. I rarely spend time with one of them for longer than five minutes." Alice explained to Jess. Jess seemed to understand, considering she would crash at Mitch's house every so often. There were three youtubers other than her in that house as well.

"That's why it's nice to have other YouTube girlfriends to talk to when the youtubers aren't around." Jess nudged Alice slightly.

"True..."

A knock on the bathroom door ended the conversation.

"That must be Vik. I'll get the test." Jess stood and walked to the door.

Alice placed her head in her hands. This was it. This was the test that would make or break the rest of her life. As much as she wanted children, she was too young and un-married. It wasn't right, and Josh would kill her.

"Is she okay?" Vik asked, trying to peek in to the bathroom.

"She's alright. Just, go hang out with Mitch. We'll be out in a second." Jess shooed him away and then shut the door.

"Right, give me that." Alice asked. Jess handed her the test and she opened the box.

"Here we go..." Jess took Alice's other hand as she did what she needed to do.

She capped the test and placed it on the windowsill to wait. This next few minutes would be hell for her.

"Jess, I'm scared." Alice began to shake.

"Don't be scared, here. I'll take the test and watch it until it says something. Just hold on..." She took the test off the windowsill and hopped up onto the sink.

"Oh this is going to be bad, I can just tell." Alice propped her head up against the wall.

"The result is coming through..." Jess said as she strained to see the little lines.

"What is it?" Alice cried, placing her palm back onto her forehead.

"Alice, you are...."
