"During the hook, we're supposed to do this," Ryujin said as she demonstrated.

Yuna, who had been kind of out of it since that morning, groaned.

No one knew what was bothering her, but she had come in with red eyes and looked like she'd been up all night crying. She wouldn't talk to anyone. It annoyed some of the other girls.

"Okay, let's try again," Yeji sighed. She went to start the music but a notification on her phone caught her attention.

'Yeji I need you call me asap'

It was a text from Soyeon.

"Hold on, guys," Yeji said as she picked her phone up. She dialed Soyeon's number and waited impatiently for the younger girl to pick up.

"Unnie!" Soyeon cried as soon as she answered. "I need you."

"Are you crying?" Yeji asked, picking up on that fact.

The other girls in their 2Team were waiting impatiently for Yeji to start the music so they could run the dance again and hopefully debut instead of Stray Kids.

"I lost the baby..." Soyeon said.

"Oh, So..." Yeji shifted slightly as her eyes filled with sadness. "Are you sure?"

"I felt the moment it died. I went to the hospital and they confirmed it was a miscarriage."

"I'm so sorry, Soyeon. Are you okay?"

"I... don't know. I was so excited. At first I was scared. I'm only seventeen and about to debut. But... I thought about what it would be like being a mother. I wanted that baby."

"Does the rest of your group know yet?"

"No. They didn't even know I was pregnant. Only you, my siblings, and Yuna knew. They just keep asking what's wrong."

"Does it hurt?"

"Yes in all ways. Physically it hurts. My baby died inside me. Emotionally, I'm suffering a lot. And mentally, I'm in pain too."

"Are you able to dance?"

"Not right now. My stomach hurts too much. I'll be able to in a week though."

"What did you tell the guys?"

"That I'm sick."

"Do you want me to come see you?"

"Yes, please."

"Okay." Yeji's heart ached for her friend. "I'll be right there."

"Thank you, unnie. I'm at the dorms."

"Okay. Bye, So."

"Bye, Yej."

Yeji hung up and turned to her team. "An emergency has come up. Keep practicing without me."

She ran out of the room to protests and shouts.

She went straight to the dorms Soyeon was in and found the girl curled up on the floor crying, empty alcohol bottles surrounding her.

"Oh, So..." Yeji took a seat next to the younger girl and hugged her tightly. "I'm always here for you. Never forget that."

Soyeon cried in her friend's arms, and Yeji stayed the night with her, helping her through the loss.

That was the day their bond became unbreakable, the day Yeji first dropped everything to help Soyeon.
