In a secluded forest, 100 miles from Shadowfen, Diamond Iron Fan and Diamond Bull King had just emerged from their escape pod. The Diamond Bull King, still seething from his long captivity, slammed his fist into the ground, causing the earth to crack. “I have been trapped on this planet for centuries! I will NOT let it chain me again!” he roared, his anger echoing through the trees.
Diamond Iron Fan, ever calm and collected, reassured him. “Don’t worry, my love. We just need to contact our son. He might have a plan for us.” She produced the D.S.C. device, twisting it to activate its hologram function. The image of Red Son appeared, his fiery eyes brimming with tears before he composed himself.
“MOTHER, FATHER, YOU’RE ALRIGHT!” Red Son exclaimed, his voice trembling with relief. He cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. “Of course we are, my son. But where are you?” Diamond Iron Fan’s voice was gentle as she helped the Diamond Bull King out of the escape pod.
Red Son’s expression turned serious. “Mother, I have an amazing plan, but I need your help. Don’t worry, everything will go according to plan.” As he spoke, he held up a red bubble containing a sun/moon-shaped gem, his laughter tinged with malevolent satisfaction. “Good, son. But we need a place to lay low until your plan is in motion,” Diamond Iron Fan said, glancing at the bubble with concern.
The Diamond Bull King’s gaze narrowed as he scrutinized the bubble. “Wait, is that the gem of the one with HIS powers?” he asked, his voice edged with suspicion. He looked at Red Son, who cradled the bubble carefully.
“Yes,” Red Son confirmed. “But he’s a Zaxvin like me, which means he only has his powers and some of his appearance, but nothing else.” He paused, then added, “While spending time with these Earth low-lives, I devised a plan. It might not be perfect, but it will buy us the time we need to escape.” Red Son’s eyes lowered briefly before meeting his parents’ gaze again. “Trust me, this plan will work. It has to.” He pressed a button on the D.S.C., which transformed it into a diamond-shaped device. He then gently floated the red bubble above, connecting it to a network of purple and yellow fading gems. Red Son pondered whether exacting revenge on those who didn’t remember or were not involved in his father’s imprisonment was worth it, but he knew he had to act.
Meanwhile, Mk, now with his new appearance, sat in the corner of Red Son’s hideout, wrapped in blankets and pillows. He sipped on very hot cocoa while Red Son secretly brought in food and drinks. Red Son managed to sneak in Mk’s favorite pizza, and they shared a meal together. “You know,” Red Son began, “I want to know about how that pearl and spinel fused. How does that work?”
Mk, looking at Red Son, explained, “Well, before I emerged from the ground, our old leader taught Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy about fusion. If a gem cares about another gem, they can fuse, resulting in a new look and weapon, and they retain their memories. They can also infuse if necessary.”
“So, it’s like being a Zaxvin, but instead of the gems disappearing, they keep their memories,” Red Son mused. Mk nodded in agreement. “Mk, why don’t we fuse? We can get revenge on your friends who abandoned you, and I can get revenge for my parents. What do you say? Let’s make them pay.” Red Son extended his hand towards Mk with a determined look.
On the beach, Mei lay on the sand, watching the waves crash against the shore. Her heart ached with the longing to retrieve her best friend. She began to sob, her hope dwindling. Suddenly, Sandy sat down beside her, his face filled with sympathy. “Hey there, Mei. I’m sorry to say, but there’s still no sign of him,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck as he stared out at the sea.
Sandy continued, “I know we all miss him, but if he survived the three rays of the three dragons in a past life, maybe his gem is still somewhere on Earth.” Mei looked at him with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. “I hope so. He was like a brother to me. If we don’t find him, I might shatter three diamonds,” she said, her resolve firm.
Sandy raised a finger. “We need to get Bloodstone now,” he instructed. They both stood up, and Mei ran to the cabin to retrieve Bloodstone. As she looked back, she saw a colossal creature emerging from the water. It had four arms, a reddish-gray purple skin, and six eyes. Its hair was red, fading to brown. The creature’s multiple mouths sneered as it approached the beach.
“HaHaHa! Look at this, the lapis thinks it can fight me,” the creature taunted. Mei and Bloodstone rushed to the beach, their eyes widening in shock.
“Oh look, the whole group is here. It will be easier to poof you all now,” the creature declared as it lumbered onto the sand. The group noticed that the creature’s appearance resembled Mk’s, causing confusion and concern.
