“So Qi became the leader of the rebellion after our gems got ripped out and we were imprisoned, and then the only survivors of the Jade Dragon’s attack reformed, minus Ao Lie, who made a hybrid. You guys found the Diamond Bull King and his son, released him, and they tried to capture you guys but failed. Then the son kidnapped Qi only to fuse, and Qi trapped the fusion. Am I getting that right?” Sun Wukung asked, sitting on the couch after spending sixteen hours absorbing information from his old friends. They all nodded while Mei slept in the love chair, surrounded by pillows and blankets.
“Yep, we’ve been trying to find MK ever since we met Proudretteite. All we know is that if we find Diamond Bull King and Diamond Iron Fan, we can find MK,” Pigsy said, still holding the yellow bubble.
“Wait, you said that the fusion was chained by shadows, right?” Monkey King asked, looking up at the three gems, who gave him a confused look in return.
“I have a genius plan, but it involves trusting a shadow.”
Meanwhile, Proudretteite sat in the lava, long flowing hair all around, with shadow chains all over their body. Their six eyes were closed as they sat, trying to ignore the situation.
“Are you awake?” a voice asked. Proudretteite opened their eyes and looked around, searching for the source of the voice.
“Oh, you are awake. I heard all about how powerful you are,” the voice continued as Proudretteite’s arms began to struggle against the chains.
“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO TALK DOWN TO ME!” the second mouth of Proudretteite yelled, thrashing about, while the first mouth whispered soothing sentences to calm the second gem.
“Look, I could care less about the diamond. All I need is the ametrine,” the voice said. The shadow chains then released Proudretteite, but shadow spears emerged from the walls, stabbing the fusion repeatedly. After a relentless barrage, Proudretteite was forcibly split into two gems. The shadow monster appeared from the darkness, collected the ametrine, bubbled the diamond, and took the two gems into the shadows.
“Hello, everyone. I did your jobs for you,” the shadow monster emerged from Pigsy’s shadow, causing everyone to panic, except for the sunstone.
“Macaque, you came back for your gem, didn’t you? After you used your shadow power to escape from being trapped in your gem?” Sun Wukung asked, holding up the yellow bubble with Macaque's gem in it.
“Oh no, Wukung, I did one better: a trade. An ametrine for a moonstone.” Macaque held up the ametrine gemstone along with the bubbled diamond, crossing it to Mei. “I don’t need the diamond, but this ametrine is important to all of you, right?”
