MK had gathered the other gems to explain everything he knew about the new threats. Pigsy let out a long sigh, glancing over at Tang, who was perched on a barstool. “I don’t know anything about these Jade Dragons,” Tang admitted, drawing everyone’s attention.“Maybe Monkey King knows more. Go ask him, MK,” Pigsy suggested.
MK raised an eyebrow. “Why do I have to go?”
Tang, without missing a beat, chimed in. “Because Monkey King doesn’t seem to care about the rest of us.”
Everyone stared at Tang, visibly confused by his remark. “What? I’m just saying what we’re all thinking,” Tang defended himself, slurping his noodles, unaware of how the mood shifted.
A heavy hand landed on Tang’s shoulder, causing him to freeze. “That’s not true,” Wukong’s voice said behind him. Tang turned slowly, meeting the intense gaze of the Monkey King.
“Anyway, what do you all need?” Wukong asked, lightening his grip on Tang’s shoulder before letting go completely.
“Well, we need to know more about the Jade Dragons,” MK explained.
Wukong shrugged casually. “Why bother? They’re just a bunch of spoiled gems—no offense, Ao Lie.” He flicked his wrist dismissively toward Mei.
“Yeah, but what if gems come here for Mei? We need to be ready,” MK persisted.
For a moment, Wukong hesitated before shaking off any concern. “I dunno.”
The entire room erupted in shock. “WHAT!?” Everyone shouted, but Wukong merely shrugged, completely unfazed.
His shadow, unbeknownst to the group, began to shift and slink under MK’s form, blending into his own shadow. “We’ll just have to wait and see,” Wukong said nonchalantly, heading toward the fridge to grab some food.
Pigsy rolled his eyes. “Yeah, great plan. Let’s just sit here, waiting to be ambushed like sitting ducks,” he grumbled sarcastically.
“Now you get it,” Wukong replied, biting into a peach with a smirk. Pigsy looked about ready to explode with frustration.

Meanwhile, at the Spider Queen’s spaceship, she was reviewing her data when a call flashed on her screen. She answered it, and Ne Zha’s stern face appeared.
“I’ve received new orders from the Jade Dragons,” Ne Zha informed her. “You’re to put your current mission on hold. The priority is to capture the Jade Dragon, Ao Lie.”
Spider Queen nodded in acknowledgment. “Understood.”
“There’s more,” Ne Zha continued. “According to the Red Diamond’s findings, the Jade Dragon is half-organic. Exercise caution. After securing the Jade Dragon, your next target is the Ametrine. Be prepared—gems will likely be there to defend it.”
“Thank you, Third Lotus Emerald,” Spider Queen said, bowing slightly before the call ended. She turned to her crew, her eyes sharp. “Did you hear that?”
The three Spider Gem Jaspers nodded obediently. Synix stepped forward with a sly smirk. “I believe I’ve got a plan.”
Huntsman rolled his eyes at Synix’s confidence, but Spider Queen noticed the subtle gesture. “Go on,” she urged, allowing Synix to elaborate.

A couple of weeks had passed since the conversation with the other gems. MK and Mei were relaxing, playing video games in the base. After MK lost for the 50th time, Mei’s phone rang. She looked at the screen and sighed. “It’s my mom. Hey, MK, let’s finish this tomorrow, okay?”
MK nodded, though he wasn’t happy about losing. “Yeah, sure. And tomorrow, I’m gonna win!”
“In your dreams, MK,” Mei teased, her usual confident tone intact as she headed out.
She made her way through the town toward her house. Just as she neared the door, something caught her eye—Big Fella and Synix were sneaking toward the base. Mei’s instincts kicked in, and she silently followed them from a distance, keeping herself hidden.
Huntsman led the way. When they reached the base, Big Fella stationed himself by the side door, and Synix began to pick the lock. “Why don’t we just break the window?” Huntsman suggested casually.
Synix turned to him with an incredulous look. “Are you serious?”
“Yeah, let’s just smash the window and announce our arrival. Genius,” Synix replied sarcastically. Without missing a beat, Huntsman broke the window.
Synix froze in disbelief, his face reddening with frustration. “What is wrong with you?” he hissed, but Huntsman was already crawling through the broken window and unlocking the front door from the inside.
“See? We’re in, and the Ametrine is now ours,” Huntsman gloated, holding up a green bubble containing MK’s gem.
Mei gasped quietly, her heart sinking.
“What? How?” Synix asked, shocked.
“There was a fight here before we arrived. The Ametrine was already proofed but not bubbled. Easy pickings,” Huntsman explained, gesturing to the wreckage inside the base—scratches and debris everywhere.
Mei’s eyes filled with tears. What happened while I was gone?
“Whatever, we’ve got the Ametrine. Let’s get out of here,” Synix said as they prepared to leave. The three Spider Web Jaspers stealthily made their way back to their spider-shaped spaceship. Mei followed behind them, as quietly as she could.
Once aboard the ship, the Spider Queen greeted them, her eyes narrowing. “Ah, you actually found him—and no cracks?” she asked, confused.
“He was already proofed when we arrived,” Huntsman repeated, handing over the bubbled Ametrine.
Spider Queen hummed thoughtfully, taking the bubble. “And the Jade Dragon, Ao Lie?”
The three Spider Jaspers exchanged confused glances. Mei seized the moment, jumping from her hiding spot. “HEY! GIVE ME BACK MY FRIEND!” she shouted, her dragon blade drawn.
Spider Queen held the bubbled Ametrine tightly. “Sorry, my little dragon, but the Red Diamond personally requested the Ametrine. I can’t disappoint the Diamonds. But don’t worry, the Dragons will make sure you’re welcomed.”
Mei’s mind raced, Why does Red Son want MK? She didn’t have time to process before a sharp pain hit the back of her head. She collapsed to the ground, her vision fading, the last thing she heard being the Spider Queen’s cruel laughter.
