*Cash's POV*
I have a feeling that that is not the last time I will be hearing Garret Thomas talking to Anson. And quite frankly, I don't care. Not in the slightest bit worried.
What I am worried about however, is the large senior who is flirting with my sister who is staying in the room right next door to ours. And I only say ours because our rooms are conjoined.
Anson and I walked back in and I crossed my arms and looked at Kinsley.
"Where's Piper?" Anson asked.
"She, is showering." Kinsley nodded.
"With Dyson." Parker laughed.
"Ew." She shook her head.
"Kinsley Rhiannon." I raised my eyebrows.
"What?"
"Did you know his room was right next to ours?"
"Garrets?" She gave me a look.
Anson choked back a laugh. "Dukes."
"It is?" She pursed her lips.
I nodded.
"I didn't know. I swear." She shook her head.
"Cash." Anson looked up at me.
I sighed. "Dad meets him before you wander off with him."
"What if Anson and Piper are with me. Or Dyson or Parker?"
"Dad still wants to meet him." I nodded.
She sighed. "Shit. Fine. I'm going to shower." She rolled her eyes and walked in to their bathroom.
"Anyone ever tell you how lucky you are?" I looked at Parker.
"Dyson, all the time." He laughed. "I however, would not go in to our room for at least another 20 minutes."
"Ew." Anson groaned and threw herself on the bed.
Parker plopped down next to her.
Weird, but, I plopped down on the other side.
"So, game planning for when we get down there." Parker looked over at both of us.
"It's Saturday, I'm going straight for the food." Anson nodded.
"I second that." I held my hand up.
"Me too!" We heard Kinsley yell.
"4 to 2, which the 2 will probably be hungry after all that." I laughed.
"I will punch you both, I swear to god." Anson laughed. "It took me months to get used to them having sex, still weird."
"Alright, no more innuendos." Parker laughed.
"Then, music down at the track fire, watch Kevin's corruption, come up here and fall fast asleep." Anson nodded.
"I also call shower next since I had to go save someone in the hallway." I laughed.
"I was smart enough to take one before I got kicked out." Parker nodded.
"Cool with me." Anson shrugged. "As long as you all wear merch down." She smiled.
"Deal." Parker and I both nodded.
Turns out, Piper and Dyson take longer showers than Kin, me, and Anson combined.
They got out, Parker and I finally went in to our room, and we started getting dressed.
"So, am I going to turn around dark corners or walk in to bike trailers and see your lips attached to my sister tonight?" Dyson looked at me.
"No bike trailers, I don't feel like dying, and I prefer for your dad not to disassemble my bike, so, I will try not to."
"Try not to kiss her, or try not to get caught." Parker laughed.
"Plan A, try not to kiss her. Plan B, try not to get caught."
"Betting on plan B." Dyson nodded.
"Are you sure you're cool with it though?" I looked over at Dyson. "Me seeing you're sister?"
He sighed. "I'm not cool with my sister seeing anyone." He shook his head. "But, there's nothing I can do to stop it, and I actually like you. So we're good." He nodded. "Just, make sure you aren't connected at the tongue while I'm around." He laughed.
"I can do that." I pointed at him.
And then our door to the girls room popped open. It was Anson, looked terrific in a pair of shorts, her cow girls boots, a cropped MCCB hoodie, one of the MCCB ball caps, and her hair pulled in to a curly pony tail. "You three take longer than we do." She nodded.
"Where the hell is the rest of that shirt?" Dyson raised his eyebrows.
"Shoved up your ass, should someone retrieve it?" She crossed her arms.
His face went completely flat and just looked at me. "You sure you want her?"
I laughed. "I'm sure." I nodded.
*Parker's POV*
I'm going to be honest, there is a part of me that does not Anson and Cash together. I don't know if it's the small part of the crush still lingering, or the fact that we're just now starting to re-kindle our friendship. But it makes me uncomfortable, I just will not show it. However, I am going to do what I told Dyson and just let her do her, and I'm going to do me.
We made our way back down to the camp, and Anson automatically jumped in the side by side and turned it on.
"Food?" Piper smiled.
"Yes." And then she looked toward the dirt road and turned it off.
"Bitch food!" Dyson yelled.
"Uh, there's someone who needs to do something first." Anson smiled and pointed.
"Oh no." Kinsley whined.
Duke and Ben walked up to us and smiled.
"Boys." Duke shook all our hands. "Ans, Piper." HE hugged them. "Hi Kinsley." He smiled. "This is my little brother Ben. B, this is Cash and Kinsley Miketish."
"Hi Ben." Cash waved.
"Hi Ben." Kinsley smiled.
"Hi." Ben waved and looked at Duke. "Is she the-"
"Shut up." Duke nodded.
"OK, so, she's gonna try to dip." Cash pointed at Kinsley. "But, since you guys are, studying, football plays together, my dad wants to meet you."
"Cash." Kinsley yelled.
"Kinsley." He mocked her.
"That's fine." Duke nodded. "I have no problem doing that. I wanted to do that anyway."
"Wait until you see him." I laughed. "Come on." I threw my arm around his shoulder and we walked up to the fire.
"Duke, Ben." Dad smiled.
"The Wallace boys. What can we do for you?" Hal smiled.
"Well, Ben and I came to buy our yearly merch, and I also wanted to meet Cash and Kinsley's dad." Duke nodded.
"That would be me." Kevin came walking out of the camper.
"Oh wow." Ben whispered. "That's a big man."
"Ben, shut up." Duke whispered and walked over.
Cash, Dyson and I plopped down on the folding chairs and folded our hands.
"Hi Mr. Miketish. I'm Duke Wallace." He held his hand out.
Kevin glanced over at the girls. Kinsley had her phone up with a clear view of her moms contact information, Piper and Anson had their arms crossed and their eyebrows raised.
"Wow they mean business." Dad laughed.
Kevin sighed. "Hi Duke, I'm Kevin." He shook his hand. "I hear you've been working on plays with Kinsley this week." He pulled his hand away and put them in his pockets.
"I have been." Duke nodded. "I am actually really impressed with how fast she's taken them in. You raised a really smart daughter."
"Oh he's good." Cash whispered and shook his head.
"You think?" Ben let out a light laugh.
Kevin nodded. "Thank you."
"You're welcome. I was actually wondering if it would be alright if my little brother and I hung out with her and the group tonight. I've been friends with Anson, Piper, Parker and Dyson for a really long time. But, I felt the need to ask you, because even through Cash will be there, we do have a few years between us, and you're her dad, you get to to chose whose around her."
"Oh he is good." I whispered.
"Parker, shut up." Kinsley said through gritted teeth.
Kevin let out a small smile. "That, that sound fair enough." He nodded. "I can respect that. If, you can respect that if you do end up wanting to hang out, without a group, that I would to talk to you again. But for tonight, Cash will be there, go have fun."
"Yes sir." Duke nodded. "Thank you."
OK, so that was not how we thought that would go. In the slightest.
"What the fuck just happened." I shook my head.
"Did I not get in trouble last night for not saying anything about this?" Cash looked at Dyson and I.
"No, you did." Dyson nodded.
Kevin sat down and looked at the girls. "Satisfied?"
They all smile. "Yep."
"Food trucks, hello!" Anson yelled.
"Can you let them get their merch first." Hal laughed.
"Ugh fine." She groaned.
Duke and Ben grabbed their new merch, and we all headed down to the track where the food trucks were.
Anson and Piper, very excited about their cheat day.
Piper and Cash wandered off to talk about the date he has planned for Anson next Saturday, and I couldn't help but glance over at them from time to time. Piper, jumping, screaming and clapping, which means Anson is going to love it. I couldn't help but stare as I made my way back to Dyson, Anson, Duke and Kinsley. But I ended up on the ground.
"Oh shit." Our friend Collin reached his hand out. "Parker I'm sorry."
"It's cool." I shook my head. "I was distracted."
Shit, Collin. "Wait a minute, are racing this weekend?"
"Yeah, 450 tomorrow."
Oh god. "Uh is your sister here?"
"Yeah, she should be down in a few minutes." He nodded. "But I have to go find my dad, catch up later?"
"Sure man." I nodded. And then I ran and grabbed Piper from Cash. "Sorry, I really need her." I pulled her away.
"Jesus Parker, what?" She shook her head.
"I just saw Collin. Cadence is here too." I nodded.
"Oh boy." She pursed her lips.
"Anson literally said that if she talks to her again she's gonna spit on her."
"OK, don't ever tell her I said this. But she's going out with Cash next weekend. She's not allowed to be mad that you're hooking up with Cadence." She shook her head.
"She's not mad I'm hooking up with Cadence. She's mad that she's hooked up with Dyson." I shook my head.
"Yeah, forgot about that." She nodded.
"Sorry." I scrunched my face.
"Oh I'm not mad. I don't get to comment on who Dyson's hooked up with, when I've hooked up with Collin. But, let me handle Anson, if Cadence comes over, it'll be fine."
"Oh god." I sighed.
"Or I can have Cash keep her entertained."
"OK, I don't want to hook up with Cadence." I shook my head.
"What?" Piper raised her eyebrows.
"I don't want to, but I don't want to be mean, and I know she's around, I'm gonna want to, and I promised I would stay with you guys tonight, not wander off, especially with Cadence. Not after last weekend."
"So, you want me to keep Cadence away from you."
"And Anson, keep her away from Anson." I nodded.
She sighed. "OK." She nodded.
"Thank you!" I lifted her and squeezed. "Thank you!"
"Yeah, you owe me one of those funnel cakes Mr. Martin." She smiled.
"Coming right up." I nodded.
She headed back over and I went to get her funnel cake.
I meant it, I don't want to hook up with Cadence this weekend. Not with Anson here because I know what's going to come out of it if I ditch everyone for her. And I really don't want spit on.
*Anson's POV*
Piper, Kinsley and I, we ate, alot. Piper and I made use of our cheat day. Kinsley needs to gain some more weight and muscle mass for football, so it's her cheat day too.
"Yall really like to eat." Ben nodded.
"It's cheat day!" Piper and I yelled.
"I play football." Kinsley yelled.
"I could get used to this." Cash nodded.
"She eats like a cat every other day of the week." Dyson shrugged.
"Better than a cow." I rolled my eyes.
And then, a skinny blonde girl came walking up to us, and Cash grabbed my shoulders.
"Hey Piper." Cadence gave her a small smile.
"Hi Cadence." Piper smiled and nodded.
"Parker, Dyson." She waved. "Duke, Ben."
"Hey Cay." Parker gave her a small smile.
"Cadence." Dyson waved. "This is Cash and Kinsley Miketish."
"Yeah." She nodded. "I know Kinsley. Hi."
"Hey." Kinsley nodded.
"Hi Cadence, I'm Cash." He smiled.
She sighed and looked at me. "Hi Ans."
"Cadence." I rolled my eyes.
"Did you need something?" Piper pursed her lips.
"Uh yeah. Collin said you were selling cropped hoodies. Just wanted to buy one." She nodded.
"No." I shook my head.
"Anson." Piper looked at me.
"No, Piper, it's fine." She nodded.
"No, it's not. Yes Cadence, you can get one. Here." Dyson reached behind him and pulled one out of the box. "They're $20 this year."
"Thank you." She gave him a small smile and handed him the money.
I cleared my throat and sucked my cheeks together.
"Anson do not spit on her." Cash leaned down and whispered. "How about, you and I go for a walk." Cash said loudly, got off the table and grabbed my hand.
I noticed Parker mouth the words thank you before he pulled me away.
"Girl you are fucking nuts." He shook his head.
"I can not stand her." I shook my head.
"You really are pissed that she slept with Dyson." He nodded.
"Well she ruined our friendship so she could fuck my brother, so." I nodded.
"OK, so, hear me out." He pulled me in between two of the trucks. "Cadence, clearly likes Parker."
"Clearly." I rolled my eyes.
"And you care about Parker, right?" He raised his eyebrows. "You two are trying to re-kindle your friendship, get back to where you were?"
"Yes." I nodded.
"And Parker obviously see's something in her, since from what I hear Parker doesn't normally go back to someone more than once."
"Yeah, he sees how easy her legs open."
"Anson. Give him a break." He nodded. "You can't expect Parker to just stay away from her completely just because you're around, and he wouldn't be rude to me if he didn't like me, because he knows you like me even if you won't admit it yet." He let out a small laugh.
I sighed. "True."
"Now, I'm not saying this weekend, but eventually, maybe you could give Cadence another shot. Not necessarily friends, but maybe acquaintances?"
I shook my head. "You know I hate you right? Trying to be the voice of reason." I let out a small smile.
"I'm meddlesome." He shrugged. "But you know that's not true."
"I will try. Eventually."
"Atta girl." He smiled.
Then he turned and started looking out to the crowd of people. "You see your dad or Dyson anywhere?"
"No. Why?" I looked out and shook my head.
"So, I can finally do this tonight without the fear of a gun or a fist." He let out a small laugh and turned my back toward one of the trucks, lightly held me against it, and just kissed me.
My body felt like it was on fire as he slowly nudged his tongue between my lips and circled my tongue with his.
Now, I have kissed a guy, I have made out with a guy, but I have never in my life kissed a guy with tongue, let alone had one shoved in my mouth. But, I didn't stop him, because the minute he did, it felt like I was floating.
Until someone cleared their throat and he pulled away.
"Uh." Piper tried containing the smile. "They wanted me to come find you to see if you guys wanted to head up to the hotel. Movies, and snacks?"
"Uh, sure, Piper." Cash nodded.
"Awesome, head on over, I wanna grab a corn dog before we go." She nodded, walked over, and grabbed my hand. "You too."
"I will see you in a minute I guess." I nodded.
"Alright." He smiled and walked back over to the guys and Kinsley.
"Ma'am." Piper threw her arms around me as we walked. "Did I just see his tongue in your mouth."
"Nope." I shook my head.
"Anson, you're a bad liar. You just got kissed with tongue and your face is red as hell." She laughed.
"Who knew a tongue could feel like that." I nodded.
Cash, he officially makes me nervous.
But the nerves need to wait until after tomorrow.
