Maloi's POV

Bumaba ako agad after preparing for school. I saw mom cooking breakfast. Umupo ako sa dining at pinanuod siya. When she felt my presence watching her, she subtly cover her bruises using her cardigan. I swallowed a lump on my throat, stopping myself from crying. Nag-away nanaman sila.

After some time, dad joined us but he went straight to mom and kissed her. "Hon, I'll go straight to the office na ha? Doon na ako magbibreakfast." he said. He didn't wait for mom to answer dahil nagmamadali siya. He didn't even bother looking at me.

"Anak, kain ka muna. You need a lot of energy for your theater practice and school." even though I can see the sadness in her eyes, she forced herself to be cheerful.

Mommy. She's the best! I love her so much. She taught me a lot of things and made me believe in soulmates and genuine love. Kaya siguro I grew up being selfless and strong because I was raised by an independent and strong woman too.

Instead of asking her about what happened last night, I remained calm and pretended like I have no idea. I smiled sweetly at her.

"Thank you, mommy! I have a lot of stories to tell but I guess you and dad are resting na kahapon when I arrived." I told her.

"Talaga ba, anak? Tell me about it!" she said, fixing my hair.

"Mom I finally saw my soulmate." I was wringing my hands, suddenly beginning to be ashamed that I shared my thoughts.

But, instead of laughing, she stopped what she was doing and sat on the chair next to me.

"Wow! Can you tell me what your soulmate looks like?" she asked, paying attention to what I said.

"Well, she has a fair skin, cat-eyed, kikay looking, and she's beautiful mom. And oh, she's tall too. Like this.." mom laughed when I raised my hand trying to show her how tall Stacey is.

"You better make a move soon bago ka pa maunahan, okay? I want to meet her." she told me excitedly.

"Eh? We just met. I'm not even friends with her." I said.

"I'm pretty sure you can work with your charm. Anak kaya kita!" she laughs.

I know it might sound crazy, but honestly, I want it to be true. I guess everybody wants to be with their "the one", right? Your own version of your fairytale prince/princess, who would sweep you off your feet and run off with you to the sunset.

After breakfast, my driver drop me off to school. I saw my friends waiting for me in front of the school gate.

"Good morning, Maloi!" Sheena waved at me. Mikha and Colet are just smiling.

"Hey! Did you guys bring your materials for experiment today?" I asked. But the three of them scratched the back of their heads and smile sheepishly. I knew it.

"Hay! Pasalamat kayo nagdala ako ng extra." I told them and gave my extra materials. Well, it's not a coincidence na I brought an extra. I purposely bring A LOT because I know they'll forget after reminding them.

"You're the best!" they all said in unison.

"Pasado ka na kay Stacey." Mikha added. I shook my head and smiled at them.

"Let's go to the cafeteria!" I said and pulled them.

"Dude! Foods at the caf sucks. Sa Bloom's nalang tayo!" Mikha protested.

"Guys I badly wanna see Stacey. At least ne supportive?" I sulked.

"Tara na nga!" Sheena said at inakbayan ako.
