Maloi's POV
"Hey, cutie." Stacey kissed me on the cheeks before taking the seat beside me.
"Well, hello Dr. Sevilleja, nice of you to finally decide to show up and join me for lunch." I laughed as Stacey took a jab at my side. "Come on, how long is your break this time?" I asked.
"Well, I have to do patient rounds to the pedia warn in ..." Checking her watch, she pouted like a child, "30 minutes." She sighed as she put her chin on her hands.
"Hey." I took both of Stacey's hands off from her chin and urged her to look up. "Come on, you have to eat before diving back to work." When Stacey hadn't smiled, I pulled her and placed her on my chest, stroking her hair.
"What's wrong?" I asked carefully.
"I'm just tired." she answered.
"You've been working too hard." I commented.
"Well, I am the Chief Resident."
Kissing the top of her head, I hugged her tighter. "But you still need to take care of yourself."
"That's why you're there for right Maloi, to take care of me? You're my best friend. My closest friend after Jho." She looked up at me, batting her eyelashes, and I let out a loud chuckle.
"Ahem!" Someone coughed loudly across us on the bench. "Can I join you or am I disturbing something?"
Stacey and I separated from each other as Stacey threw tissue on Colet. Oh, the whole gang is here. Even Aiah and Jhoanna.
"Well, Arch. Vergara, we can join them unless Dr. Ricalde has any objections." Mikha said. Without waiting for an answer, they sat on the vacant seats, which made Stacey roll her eyes.
"Sus! Kakasama mo 'yan kay Aiah kaya napapa 'objections' 'objections' ka na rin." Sheena butted in.
"Dr. Ricalde," Gwen called out. "The senior students from our high school wants to interview us on how we were able to transition from great students to the pioneer of different fields."
"Seriously? How many interviews have you had, Maloi? I honestly think they just have a crush on you and this interview is just an excuse." Stacey protested.
