Stacey's POV

I rubbed my eyes in an attempt to release some pressure from it. Checking my watch, I tried to suppress a yawn, as I stretched my back. Shifting my head from side to side, I then took my head to bring my senses back.

I'm tired, it's 10pm, and I just finished a 5 hour pedia-surgery. While I'm happy that the operation went well, all the stress and anxiety is now weighing on me.

"Good evening, Doctor Sevilleja." the receptionist greeted me. "Pulling another all nighter?"

"Hi, Marie! No, I should be going home in a while. Just need to wrap some paper works before calling it a day." I sleepily replied as I stepped into my office.

Laying down the keys on my table as I remove my lab gown, I stopped mid-way when I noticed a bouquet of flowers on top of my table. Picking it up, I read the card on it. "Hi, Doc! Saw these today and remembered you. Hope it made you smile. Take some break. Dinner? I'll wait for you. Love you always!"

After I told our friends the reason behind my impulsive actions and decisions, Maloi and I didn't really talk about it na. It's like both of us are avoiding the topic. We both acted as if nothing happened and continued our friendship. She's still sweet and caring but I feel like something wrong and bad will about to happen based on her actions these past few days.

I walked out my door quickly. "Marie, what time did these come in?" I asked.

"Around 6:30, Ma'am. Dr. Ricalde brought those herself here." she answered.

Slapping my forehead, I hissed in disappointment. "Oh, okay, what time did she leave?"

Marie scrunched her forehead and pursed her lips pointing to something behind me. "She didn't."

I quickly twirled around to follow what Marie was looking at, towards the patient bench beside my office door. I let out a small chuckle when I saw Maloi, slumped on the bench, sleeping, with her hoodie covering her face.

I couldn't help but smile as I had a vision of the college Maloi in her hoodie. slumped on chorale room's floor, trying to catch some sleep in between classes and training.

Kneeling in front of Maloi, I stroked her face gently. "Hey, wake up."

Maloi stirred from her sleep. "Uhh, Stacku, sorry I fell asleep. I was just tired from training the interns the whole day."

She stood up and held both my hands to pull me up. "I didn't know it was too late." Moving behind me, she waived towards Marie. "Hey, Marie! Sorry for squatting on your benches again." she smiled shyly.

"No worries, Dr. Ricalde. I didn't mind staring at your beauty the entire time." Marie flirted which made me roll my eyes.

"Come on!" I told Maloi and dragged her towards my office.

"No, it's okay. It's late and you've probably had dinner already. I'll just go." She said.

I closed the door behind me and removed my lab gown, dumping it on my couch. "Actually, I haven't." I slumped on my couch and kicked out my shoes.

"What!? " Maloi whined.

I leaned up a bit, just enough so that I can grab her and pull her down to sit beside me.
