Chapter 12: Easy on The Eyes

Maloi's POV

My friends drop me off last night and saw my mom waiting in front of our gate, with worries and guilt written on her face. She immediately hugged me and kissed my forehead as if I'm the only precious thing to her.

I entered our house na parang walang nangyari. My dad didn't even bother to check up on me. Nawalan na talaga siya ng pakealam sa akin. I can't blame him dahil according to him, hindi niya naman ako anak.

I'm staying at my grandparents now because it feels awkward to face dad everyday. It feels like I have done something I am not aware of. Ni hindi niya ako kayang tingnan at hindi niya ako kayang kausapin. Before, I was clueless. But now, nabigyan na ng sagot ang mga katanungan sa isip ko. At kung tatanungin ako kung gusto ko 'to, I'll answer NO without any hesitations.

"What happened, Maloi? Bakit ka umalis bigla? Nag-alala si tita sa'yo." I went back to reality when Colet suddenly asked.

"Uhh, nothing. I wanted to try walking alone lang." I answered. Colet looked at me suspiciously but she let it slide kaya napanatag ako. As much as I wanted to tell them what really happened last night, ayaw kong ipasalo sa kanila ang problemang hindi naman sila ang may gawa.

"Don't do that again. You made us so worried." Aiah said and sat beside Mikha who just gave her a weird look. She hates Aiah and we don't know the reason why. Aiah is one of the most genuine person I know. Mother figure siya sa group namin.

"I'm sorry. It will never happen again." I assured them with my usual bright smile even if I'm so close to breaking down any moment.

"J-just ... open up IF you're going through something." Colet said and looked away. Focusing her attention to Jhoanna and JL. She let out a heavy sighed after witnessing the two having their own little world.

You'll get what's yours soon, best friend. I told myself.

"Let's cut the drama, gutom na ako." Mikha simply said sabay tayo at nauna na maglakad. Sumunod na ang iba sa kanya, Colet looked at Jhoanna and JL before calling them to join us for lunch.

I looked around to look for Stacey, kanina pa siya missing in action. Hinablot ko si Sheena na susundan sana si Gwen."Where's Stacey?" I asked her. She gave me an irritating look, "Mukha ba akong tanungan ng mga nawawalang tao? Don't bother me, di ko tuloy nasundan si bebe." she rolled her eyes and left me.

I ran towards Mikha na nakalayo na sa amin. I'm having a hard time catching my breathe nang mahabol ko siya. I cling my hands to her arms and kissed her cheeks. Mikha being Mikha, she looked at me disgustingly.

"What the fuck?" she ranted.

"Didn't you miss your best friend?" I asked.

"Si Colet ang best friend ko!" she replied but later on, gave in and just let my hands clinging on her arm.

"Are you looking for Stacey? She's walking towards us oh?" Mikha told me and pointed in front where I saw Stacey with a guy named Lance. I swear, he screams bad news. He can easily make you fall in love with him but will eventually let go of you.

Lance is carrying her bag and they look so happy. I stand here with Mikha watching the two of them walk towards us. I let out a small smile, hindi ko alam kung halata sa mga mata ko na hindi ako natutuwa sa nakikita ko. Kaso lang, wala naman akong magawa. Gusto ko siyang tanungin kung ano ang mayroon. I don't know how will am I going to ask her. Should I ask her as the friend or as someone who likes her?

"Hi guys! This is Lance. Lance, I want you to meet my friends; Maloi and Mikha." Stacey said pagkalapit na pagkalapit niya sa amin ni Mikha. "Where's the others?" she added, looking at Mikha.
