Maloi's POV
I am seated on top of the edge at the highest point on the far side of campus, overlooking the fields below. The view was so serene and calm, much like being in the province, with long stretches of grass and trees. I inhaled the fresh air and closed my eyes, meditating. Today is 16. It's been 5 months.
I was suddenly startled when I felt someone behind me, as people rarely come to this distant place. Mikha threw her bag beside me, and pushed herself up to hoist herself over the ledge.
Panting and swearing, Mikha tried to catch her breath. I shook my head, preventing my laughter, and went back to meditating.
"You missed theater practice today."
"I wasn't feeling well." I answered.
She placed her hand on my neck to feel my temperature. "You're not sick."
I rolled my eyes, "I had other things to do."
"I doubt it, as I know for a fact that you cut two classes today."
"I came here as I wanted peace and quiet."
"That's easy, I can push you off this cliff and you can rest in peace." she laughs kaya tiningnan ko siya ng masama. Sana pati feelings niya kay Jhoanna magrest in peace na rin. Leche!
"Mikha, LEAVE.ME.ALONE!" I sighed out of frustration.
Shifting her tone from mocking to serious, Mikha replied, "On one condition ... tell me the truth."
I sensed that Mikha was not going to give up.
"Fine! What do you want?"
"Why did you skip practice today?"
I put my head on my hands. Knowing Mikha, she really won't stop bothering you unless she gets what she wants.
"I wasn't in the mood." I replied nonchalantly.
"Okay," Mikha said, taking out a small notebook and started doodling on it. "May 16, wasn't in the mood."
