Maloi's POV
"Maloi, I can't believe it!" Stacey exclaimed. She called even before I could enter my room.
We had a conversation at school earlier, she said she'll call right after going home. I didn't know she's this excited to call me. Months have passed, Stacey and I got more closer. Actually, mas naging close kaming pito. At noong dumating si Aiah, napasama na rin siya sa amin. Walo na kami. Jhoanna being the most witty among us came up with this motto, "Walo Hanggang Dulo".
Sheena finally got some balls to ask Gwen to be her girlfriend. Mikha became more quiet, I don't know what she's dealing but if ever she'll come to me and open up, I will gladly give her a piece of advice kahit na alam kong mas malaki ang possibility na hindi niya naman susundin.
"What? Aren't you even going to ask how my day was?" I sounded sad.
"Oh, sorry. Why do you sound sad?" she worriedly asked.
"I wasn't voted as president of our room. They chose Angela, Colet's academic rival..." she sighed and I could sense she felt bad for me.
"Maloi, I, as every one else on your room, know that you deserve that position more than any one else. They probably voted Angela because she's older than you. It doesn't make you any less of the student that you are." she comforted me.
"You think so?" I asked.
"I know so. "
"Alright, so tell me your news!" I told her as I remembered she was about to say something before I interrupted her about my dramatic day.
"Okay, remember when you asked me about 'the one'? You even told me about how it felt like to finally found your person of interest." she giggled.
And with that, she told me about what happened to her when she looked at Colet. How her system suddenly became wild and how she daydreamed about her being with Colet.
"Maloi, I swear to God! I felt the chills. Parang biglang crush ko na yata siya." she said.
"Hindi ba masyadong mabilis? Paano?" Even when I'm hurting deep inside, I managed to asked her that.
"Okay, maybe I don't know what am I saying but I know what I've felt." she answered, typical Stacey. Alam na alam niya kung paano sagutin ang mga tanong.
Kahit na parang nasaktan ako, pinili ko pa ring makipag-usap sa kanya. As usual, random stuffs lang at kung ano-anong mga kaganapan sa theater practice ko and sa dance practice niya.
"...And then our teacher caught me sleeping hahaha" I laughed at what I said, nakatulog kasi ako sa math class namin kanina tapos Sheena who's beside me faked her cough causing my prof to notice me.
I expect Stacey to say something but it was dead air.
"Stacey, are you there?" I asked.
"Yeah, yup, I'm here. Sorry Maloi, I was stalking Colet on IG. What was that?" she said.
"Never mind."
"Come on Maloi, I said I'm sorry. Please?" she pleaded.
"It's okay, I gotta sleep anyway," I said faking a yawn.
"Maloi, it's weekend tomorrow, you could stay up late." she told me, siguro she's guilty for not listening to what I was saying.
"Night, Stacey." I told her and hanged up the phone.
Talking to each other was the highlight of our day — or at least my day. Through phone calls, we felt like we were part of each other's lives. We've always looked forward to our phone calls. Pero bakit pakiramdam ko ito na ang huling matinong phone call namin? Or masusundan pa kaya?
