Maloi's POV
I was sitting at the park where Stacey and I used to go, hoping to at least see her here. I messed up and I really don't know what to do now.
"Hah! We knew it! Andito ka lang pala." I was startled when someone spoke from behind. When I turned around, I saw Colet, Mikha, and Jhoanna.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked them.
"Looking for you obviously?" Mikha said sarcastically and sat beside me.
"Why? Did you find Stacey already? How is she?" I bombarded them questions because aside from missing her, I am also worried.
"Nope. Not yet. I guess the operation finding Stacey should be done by you." Jhoanna butted in.
"How? I don't know where to start. I lost her. She resigned already." I explained and started to tear up again.
"Have you checked her parent's house?" Colet asked.
"Not yet. I'm scared and too coward to face her parents. What am I gonna tell them? That I am stupid and made the wrong choices?" I frustratingly told them.
"Yes? At least man up and own up to your mistakes." Mikha said.
"What if she's not there?" I asked them again.
"Then look for her again. Find your ways. If you really wanted to, you would." Colet replied.
I stood up and started walking to the direction of her parent's house.
"Maloi ..." Jhoanna called out.
I turned around to them. "Yes?"
"I'm pretty sure you'll find her. Because love will guide the two of you. Love will lead her back to you." She smiled and side hugged her wife who looked at her proudly.
I nodded and smiled at the three of them before turning around again. This time, more eager to find her. More courageous to win her back. I smiled remembering how my friends found love, lost it in the process, and waited again after a very long time. If it's meant to be, it will happen. I am proud of them and I am hoping that in Stacey and I's case, it would end up the same as my friend's love stories.
—————
I'm standing here, a place I thought I'd never go back to.
Has it been almost a decade since I've last been here? A young girl dropping of her best friend / crush after school or after the quick catch up at the park near the subdivision. This place has a big part to my own version of happy ever after with Stacey. And I know damn well how that ended.
I took in deep breath as I felt a chill, although the weather is perfectly warm. Crossing my arms against my chest, I heaved, willing myself to push that buzzer which I've been staring at for the past 10 or so minutes.
