Maloi's POV
7am. I went to Starbucks as my daily routine, before heading to my office.
"Hi, I'll get the usual." I told the barista.
"That will be one tall white chocolate mocha, double espresso for Dr. Ricalde .... And an order of bonaffee pie to sweeten your day."
"I didn't order ..." I started but I gave her my credit card anyways.
The barista refused my payment. "Your breakfast has already been settled, Dr. Ricalde."
I raised my eyebrow in confusion, but it was too early for me to process anything. It's probably a store loyalty promo, I thought. What will my friends say kaya kapag sinabi kong may promo? For sure susugurin nila ang Starbucks dito lalo na si Mikha na almost everyday kung magbigay ng kape sa Misis niya.
Proceeding to the claiming counter, the barista handed my coffee and pastries to go.
Upon holding my cup, I was surprised at what was written on it. Usually my cup just states "Dr. Ricalde" or "Dr. Yves", but now, it had a note on it.
"Y, breakfast is done. So, what about lunch? :) - S"
I had swallow my laughter as I just shook my head in embarrassment. Feels like bumalik kami sa College days namin with all these unexpected things. I walked my way to my office and greeted all the staffs before going inside.
Sitting on my desk, I sent out a message to Stacey.
Yves:
I got the coffee and the cake. Thanks!
Aubrey:
Hope that boosts your day. So, about that lunch?
Yves:
Stacku, I told you, we can't do this.
Aubrey:
What's wrong with two friends having lunch?
I laughed and bit my lip to stop myself from laughing.
Yves:
Stacey Aubrey Sevilleja. You very well know what I'm talking about!
Aubrey:
Stop being so malicious. So, about that lunch?
Yves:
Mikki's dropping by.
Aubrey:
Oh right, Mikki.
Yves:
I'm sorry, Stacku.
Aubrey:
No, this is my fault. It's my problem that I'm still in love with you.
Why do I feel guilty that I declined her offer because Mikki's dropping by? I should at least feel happy because my boyfriend is making an effort to be with me despite his busy schedule, right?
Ugh! I need to get back my senses.
"Hey!" I waved to my friends through videocall.
"Oh, thank God napatulog ko rin ang anak ko. Papatayin ako ni Jhoanna kapag hindi siya natulog." Colet said while giving their child a kiss on her forehead.
