Third Person POV
From [Y/N]'s journal ~
February 1st,1917
I am stupid. When Alexei came back few days ago, I almost accidentally told him! I mean, I wanted to tell him, but not this way! He must think, I'm delusional! Stupid emotional nature! Why can't I just hold my tongue?! I hope he forgets and everything is going to be the way it was...
Oh, if only we were a little older, confessing to him wouldn't be so awkward. I'm turning 12 this year, he 13... He obviously doesn't think about relationships with girls yet! If I tell him, he's going to feel uncomfortable! She closed the journal with a sigh. " If I told him, I wouldn't have to think about it anymore... At least situation would be clear..."
" You'll have to tell him. This is more tiring for both of you, more you keep it to yourself." An unexpected voice said.
" Carla! Why didn't you knock before getting in?!" The girl frantically hid the journal, scared that someone might heard her or read what she's written.
" I did. You didn't answer, so I came in. If there's no 'no' there's a 'yes'.
" Beautiful phrase. What do you need?" [Y/N] asked, calming down.
" I need you to say to Alexei Nikolaievich about your feelings for him."
Her face turned red as she tried to answer as casually as she was able. " I'm afraid, I can't grant your request..."
Carla shrugged and stood up. " Whatever you say... I'll be right back." She went to the door.
" Where are you going...? [Y/N] asked confused.
" To Empress Alexandra. You cannot grant my request, but I suppose you would grant hers, wouldn't you?"
Girl's eyes wided. " Oh, no! You're not...!" She tried to protest, but the lady-in-waiting was already at the door. " Oh, yes, I am!" Carla practically dashed out of the room, leaving [Y/N] with terrified look on her face...Meanwhile
" But you've said you're going to tell her when you're back! It doesn't look good, when the tsarevich goes back on his word...
" I haven't given my word to anyone! Those were plans! Plans can change!
" I suppose your feelings for her also changed?"
" Of course not! Never!"
" Then go and tell her!
" I can't! Kolya, both of us are kids! I'm not even 13, she's 12!"
" She surely doesn't think about such things yet!"
" And what if she does? If you won't tell her, someone else will take an interest in her...
" What?!"
" Don't yell at me I'm just saying it's possible. Anastasia will have her debutante ball, this year, won't she?"
" What does it have to do with [Y/N]?"
" You know... There will be a lot of guests. Including rich young gentlemen... I wouldn't be surprised if [Y/N] caught someone's eye~"
" I thought you were my friend and you're presenting me the worst scenerios that can be!" Alexei looked at him with reproach.
" And because I'm your friend, I'm warning you. Take a chance and tell her before it's too late...
" But..."
" That's it. I'm done." Kolya stood up and Alexei looked at him in confusion.
" You're going home?"
" No. I'll try to talk to the tsar. Maybe he can convince you to finally go forward." And he left...
" No! Kolya, don't!" Alexei called, but it was too late. His friend was nowhere to be seen.______________________________________
" You're not mad at me, Your Majesty?" [Y/N] asked, quite surprised. Alexandra shook her head. She had to hide how happy she was. Alexei told her from the very beginning that he liked [Y/N], back in 1912, but as the years passed, she realized that it's not only childlike affection. It might have been her son's first serious love. Could it be possible at such a young age? Appearently, yes. And Alexandra was more than happy, to see that it's reciprocated.
" And why would I be mad at you? For liking Alexei? Please, you're such a smart girl, don't talk nonsense..."
" Isn't this too early to tell someone... I'm only 12, not even, my birthday is in May...
" I was 12 years old when I've met my husband. Look at us now.
" Your Majesties are a perfect couple..." [Y/N] smiled fondly, but her expression changed again. " I'm a little scared of rejection... He doesn't have to like me back..."
" Everything is going to be all right, trust me." Alexandra smiled. She couldn't tell her everything, but with this, she was telling only the truth.
