Third Person POV

It was the first of September and [Y/N] sat in the living room, sewing. Her children were in the same room. Peter and Yevgieniy sat by the desk with opened book for Spanish grammar laying before them. They noted something on the pieces of paper. Valeria was reading the fairytale book with pictures as Michael sat next to her, listening. Inessa was playing with a doll, brushing its hair and Felix was playing " pick-a boo" with Ekaterina, who occasionally attempted to play with his curly hair. Everything was so nice and peaceful... Suddenly the door opened.
[Y/N]'s brother stood in the doorway with his arms wrapped around his wife, who sobbed hysterically.
" Dear God... Siergiey? Hanna? What happened? I thought you'd be in Warsaw..."
" We were..." Siergiey cut her off. The tsarina looked at her oldest son. She didn't even have to say a word. He understood immediately.
" Guys, we are out of here. Mama needs to talk to uncle and auntie alone." Peter said it in calm but demanding tone, not tolering any objections. He picked Ekaterina up from the rug. The rest of the children gazed upon each other, then at their mother, who nodded.

As the kids were out of the room, [Y/N], looked at her brother in question. It was clear, that Hanna wasn't able to talk. Siergiey didn't say anything either. He just montioned his head in the direction of the shelf, where radio stood. They once brought it for [Y/N] as a gift... She slowly walked over and turned the radio on.

*"Hallo, hallo? This is Warsaw and all Polish radio stations. This morning at 5: 40, German troops has crossed the Polish border, breaking the pact of non-aggression. A number of cities has been bombed." [Y/N] covered her mouth in terror. How could this happen?!
" In the moment you will hear the special broadcast." Then, another voice could be heard.
" So, war! As of today, all matters and issues go to the background. We put all our private and public lives on special tracks. We entered the war period. All the effort of the nation must go in one direction. We are all soldiers. We have to think about the only thing; Fight until victory!*
----------------------------------

" Warsaw has been bombed, too... We had to ran away..." Siergiey said quietly, still hugging sobbing Hanna.
" Oh, Christ..." [Y/N] whispered and her eyes wided as she remembered something. " Wait! Where's Barbara?!"
" In the hotel. She wasn't able to come. She is still in shock."
" And Paul?" The tsarina asked about her other nephew, who was now around 8 years old.
" He stayed with her. He got so terribly scared... My poor children..." [Y/N]'s brother blinked away few tears. She knew he was terrified as well. Who would not be, in such a situation?
" Why didn't you inform me earlier, that the Germany declared a war to Poland? Maybe, we would think something through..."
" BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T INFORM US! I WOKE UP IN THE MORNING HEARING ALARM! " Hanna cried out.
" That's true. Germans did not gave any declaration of war, or any other warning." Siergiey explained.
A/N: That's historical true . Germany didn't gave ANY declaration or warning before attacking Poland in 1939 .

" You are telling me, that they crossed the border and just like that, began to drop bombs onto the cities?!"
" It sounds unbelievable, but yes. That's how it went."
[Y/N] shook her head in disbelief. " This is outrageous! This is unacceptable!  Scandal!" That was the first time Siergiey never saw his sister so angry before... She calmed down quickly, however not completely. She turned to her brother. " Go get Barbara and Paul. Those poor things should not be alone now. You guys can stay here as long as you wish."
As the man left, [ Y/N] quickly hugged her sister-in-law. " Oh, dear Hania.... I'm so so very sorry..."
" [Y/N/n]...! It was going so well! Everything was fine! Why don't they just let us be?! What did we do, [Y/N/n]...?! Where is our fault?!
" Nowhere, Hanna... Nowhere."[Y/N] rubbed her back, still embracing her.
" Maybe... We should not really exist on the map...? Maybe Poland wasn't supposed to..."
" Stop that! I'll never believe it! I know how strong Polish spirit is! It just couldn't end like this! And now... [Y/N] grabbed Hanna's hands." It'll be the same! You will get through this! You'll win this!"
" [Y/N] it's not this simple. We focused on economy for last 21 years. Our military is not that strong to compete with Germans!"
" Then can't other countries help you?"
" Do you think they care? We are completely alone in this! British promised to help, but I honestly don't think they will... French, too! EVERYONE is afraid to mess with Germany. Hitler wants the whole Europe under his shoe! All countries are trembling!"
" All but one. " [Y/N] corrected.
