Third Person POV
" Mother, mother!" Yevgieniy's eyes were sparkling with joy and excitement. " I got a letter from Antoinette! She's coming to Russia! Can you believe it?!"
[Y/N] laughed slightly at her son's behavior. " I know, Gienya... Her father has written to me himself and asked me if she could also stay with us for the time..." She smiled.
" REALLY?!" She
" Yes, but please don't scream."
" Sorry..." He cleared his throat. " But I'm so excited! She wanted to visit Russia for long time!"
" And you wanted HER to visit YOU for a long time ~" The woman gave him a knowing smirk.
" Mama!" His face flushed slightly. " What are those insinuations?"
" Not insinuations. Those are facts, dear."
" How are you so sure?"
" Please, stop denying it. I am your mother, furthermore a person, who married a childhood friend. I had a crush on him since 1913, I know how to recognize those things."
He sighed heavily in defeat. " Is it that obvious?"
" Well, you keep writing letters to her, so~" She laughed." But actually you never tell me much about her... Even her father asked me If it's really OK so she stays with us... What is it all about?" He took a deep breath before speaking up again. " There's a thing... I didn't tell you. I couldn't know, how you'll react..."
" Well?"
" She...Is disable. Can't walk. Her hands are quite weak too..."
" And that's why you were afraid to tell me more about her?" [Y/N] asked in slight disbelief. She thought that her son knows her well enough, to be aware , she'll have nothing against...
" You know... People react differently..." Yevgieniy explained softly. " She asked me herself not to tell you, because I quote" Maybe your parents wouldn't want someone like me to be your friend, if they knew I am a cripple." He sighed heavily. " It really hurts me, when she calls herself like that... She is so smart and pretty, I.. I really like her... Only..."
" She doesn't like her own self..." [Y/N] finished sadly, as she remembered her childhood. Feeling guilty and worse than others, not noticing that the things you feel so bad for, are out of your reach and you can't have any influence on them... " I bet, she blames herself for not being able to walk..." The tsarina thought." I can't wait to meet your friend, Gienya." She smiled and her son nodded. " Do you think, papa won't have anything against her?" Her son asked, a little concerned.
" Technically, your father is also disabled in some way... So, no. I don't think so."
" Phew...Glad, you took it that way..."_____________________________________
" So, how's the situation?" Nicholas asked putting the teacup down. Alexei smiled. " The Germans declared to provide the costs of rebuilding destroyed cities and countries. The deal has been signed..." Germany's alliance countries seem to be quite all right with all this, but USA... We are kind of concerned about having anything to do with them now..."
" Any reason?"
" Atomic bomb."
There was a long while of silence.
" That is definitely not what expected you to say..."
" But [Y/N] says that breaking the trade contract is pointless...The war between Japan and USA still continues. We don't want anything bad to happen..."
" Have you got any plan?"
" That's what I am afraid of! Japan won't give up! They won't listen to us... Not after what happened before the Great War... So [Y/N] wants to go to USA and convince Harry Truman not to use the atomic bomb in any circumstances! Got it? She wants to go to America all by herself! I swear to God, this woman is impossible!"
"And unstoppable." Nicholas added calmly. " If she wants to do something, she will do it anyway. She always like this..."
" I know.. " Alexei sighed. "And I love her also for that... But it makes me so worried...
" You know, the information about Germans' defeat didn't go everywhere yet, maybe, when Japan and USA hear about it, they stop fighting as well...
" I really hope so..."______________________________________
Luckily, there has never been need for [Y/N] to intervene since, on the 1st of August, the USA get information about the end of the war in Europe. They stopped fighting as well, and so have Japan. Finally there was peace in the world.
