Third Person POV

My dear Sissi,

Thanks to your warning, we were able to prepare for defense against Nazi soldiers. We are very grateful to you. My mother asked me to say thank you in her name, because she thinks, it is too risky, if she sends a letter to you personally...
So, thank you. I say it not only in the name of my mother, or mine, but also, all of Russia. Who knows, maybe you have saved us.
I do hope, you are doing well. Please, take care of yourself... This question may not seem the most polite, but I'm curious... Do you miss us? My siblings are looking forward to seeing you. I, myself, often catch myself lately at thinking of you... Maybe, I should not have written it, but we promised to be honest with each other, haven't we?

Stay safe and God bless you.

Peter

P.S. Don't get surprised, if I'm not calling Nazi , Germans'. I don't consider them as ones. Have you heard about the Bolsheviks? I don't consider them as Russians either.

Lisa smiled down at the paper as she held the letter to her chest. Little did her friend knew, how much does words mean to her... The message would appear once in a week. Until then, she would reread the previous one, not only because those letters were her only entertainment, but also, they were the only reason, she still felt that she is at least a little bit important to someone, and actually the only thing that would make her smile...
Sissi... Peter gave her this nickname. She wondered, if he did it on propose... Does he knows that there was an Empress of Austria-Hungary, who was also called by the nickname? Or maybe, he did not? Boys are not interested in princess stories...
Nevertheless, it warmed her heart to have someone, who would ask her how she's doing, calling her nice nicknames, telling her that she is missing and thought of... As a young child, she was, Lisa needed and longed for compassion and empathy. And Peter would give it all to her in the letters... He was her only view of the slightest bit of normal life, she wanted to have so much.

* Hallo, hallo, can you hear us? This is our last broadcast. Today the German troops has entered Warsaw.
Brotherly greetings we send to Polish soldiers, fighting on Hel and everyone fighting, wherever they are. Poland is not yet lost! Long live Poland!

--------------------------

The cheerful, upbeat melody of Mazurka Dąbrowskiego ( Polish national anthem) started to play in the radio.
Hanna and her children stood up. Their lips began to move as they " sang" without even making a sound.
[Y/N] saw tears in the eyes of her sister-in-law, Barbara and Paul... Siergiey, even though he didn't join in " singing", also stood up straight. It was his wife's country, so partly, also his.
The tsar and his wife looked at each other in concern. Tomorrow, the Germans were to attack also Russia...

" My dear children..." Alexei looked at all seven of his kids. They stood in line, from oldest to youngest, well, minus Ekaterina, who was held by her eldest brother.
" I have to be honest with you. Some of you might noticed that something changed in Russia.... There is a possibility, we will have to fight with Germany..."
There was silence. Children looked at each other in confusion and fear.
" W- war...?!" Yevgieniy uttered in shakily voice as Felix clutched onto his arm, frightened. Valeria and Inessa hugged each other tightly, trying to calm down from the shocking news.
" But.. it's nothing certain, is it...? The third brother tried to stay optimistic, as always, but Michael crossed his plans, as he panicked. " I don't want to die!"
[Y/N], who was also there, immediately ran up to her kids and grabbed the youngest boy by his shoulders bending down to his level. " Whoever told you such a thing?"
" People die on war! I don't want to die, Mama!"
" Look at me. I will not let anyone hurt you." She promised and the boy cuddled to her immediately.
" I'll do everything I can, so we won't have to start actual fight. Right now, we are in defensive position." Alexei spoke mainly to Peter and Yevgieniy, who were actually the only ones to fully understand what he said.
