Third Person POV
[Y/N] was sitting on the bench in the garden enjoying the warm spring evening and resting from all the noise and crowded space at the party...
" Somehow I thought that this is where I'll find you..." She lifted up her head only to see Alexei standing there.
" Care to join?" [Y/N] pointed at a spot on the bench , next to her.
"Sure." As he sat down, she gave him a concerned gaze. " Tell me, is something wrong?"
" No. Why would it be?"
" I haven't seen you whole day... I thought that maybe you weren't feeling all right... It's not like you to disappear like that..."
" Sorry for worrying you,[Y/N/n]... I just had something very important to do today..."
" It's OK." She smiled." Only thing I was wondering about was if you're all right. Now, I know you are." They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes. The young woman looked at the sky with a smile on her face." Look, how bright the stars shine..." She sighed. " Before my mother died, she told me that when I'd see the stars shine in the night of 21st of May, it'll be her sending me wishes from above..."
" Specifically the stars?"
" I was born at the evening." [Y/N] explained. " My mother claimed, that night stars shined brighter than ever before... What's strange, the midwife and servants who were there as well, confirmed it few years later... Can you believe that?"
" Actually, yes, I can." Alexei nodded. " Maybe it was a sign that you'll achieve something wonderful in the future..."
[Y/N] laughed slightly. " I don't know. You never know what fate may bring..." She sighed. " Nevertheless, it's so nice to have some memories of the good old days..."
" Speaking of good old days..." He pulled out something from his pocket. " Do you remember that?" He showed her the handkerchief embroidered in blue flowers. It was old but kept in very good state.
" The handkerchief with forget-me-nots that I gave you back in 1914...? You still have it..." She was quite surprised that he kept it for so long. Alexei smiled.
" Of course, I have it. I kept it as a good luck charm."
" You believe in good luck charms?" She giggled.
" Only when they're from you~" He smirked and [ Y/N] rolled her eyes playfully as he handed the handkerchief to her." I believe it'll bring all of us a good future." As she held it in her hands, she felt that something was wrapped into the fabric." Huh...? That's strange..."The curiosity took her mind over and she began to unwrap it. Can you imagine her surprise as she saw A RING in there?
Her eyes wided in shock. She wasn't sure what to think, then she looked at Alexei in question. Suddenly, she realized what was actually happening.
" Wait..! You..." She looked back at the ring " This... I... Oh, God.. " She covered her mouth looking at him once again. In that moment Alexei stood up and came to bend before her. "[Y/N]... You're making me the happiest man on earth already, so I won't ask you for that... " He took her hand." But would you grant me the greatest honor and agree to become my wife?"
" Oh, my God..." She teared up, but nodded happily. " Yes!" Now, he also had happy tears in his eyes. She agreed! He took the ring out from the handkerchief and put it on her left ring finger. " There..." As soon as he did that, [Y/N] stood up and threw her arms around his neck. He returned the embrace as they both laughed in happiness. He picked her up and spun her around a little.
When he put her back onto the ground, they still didn't let go of each other... "Do you think, my mother's watching?" [Y/N] giggled gazing at the sky.
" I think she is. Furthermore, I think she's happy for both of us." He smiled as she looked into his eyes and soon, they shared a kiss. As they broke apart, she laughed slightly. " If someone told me, back in 1912, that 13 years later I'll be standing there, accepting your proposal, I would have thought that the person got mad..."
" And yet, here we are..."
______________________________________"There you are!" Nicholas turned to his son and [Y/N]. " Where have you two been?"
" In the garden..." She said quietly. All the guests were already gone except Sonia and Yana. Them and all of OTMA were just sitting there, drinking tea, as the children were fast asleep for few hours now.
" I.. We have something to tell you." Alexei grabbed [Y/N]'s hand. His mother looked at them slightly concerned. " Should we be scared?" She asked. Both of them shrugged with small smiles. " Are you afraid of weddings, mama?" Alexei chuckled. Tsarina's eyes wided." Weddings...?!"
" Umm..." [Y/N] raised her left hand, showing the ring on her finger.
Maria dropped (luckily empty) teacup, Tatiana choked, Olga covered her mouth in shock.
