I clock back in when I see a Crystal fall and no ace-op available to catch it. Luckily for all of us Little Rose jumps in to get it. She chuckles happily when she catches it
"Thought you said your semblance was like mine" Harriet asks said girl
"It.......is"
"I've never seen anything like that before" Harriet concludes "I think there's more going on there than you think"
"Wait until you see what she can do with her eyes" Blondie snorts
Clover joins us along with Qrow in the clearing
"Lucky catch huh?" Qrow raises an eyebrow
"No I'd chalk that up to talent" Clover quips
"Urghh get a room" I roll my eyes, I notice everyone look towards me "what? we were all thinking it"
Since I made it awkward the Ace-ops start leaving and the rest of us follow behind
"Sometimes you really should keep your comments to yourself" Coral makes herself known, Ash snorts
We exit the caves and the bright light of the outside world shocks my eyes, and I need a moment to adjust them.
"That was awesome" Jaune calls out from behind the Ace-ops "you didn't even need to plan your tactics" Nora squeals from the side making my ears twitch
"Ace-ops are handpicked to compliment each other in combat, to work together perfectly" Clover divulges
"And some of us are completely perfect" Marrow flexes his muscles, Elm scoffs as a result "what you think I'm not?" Marrow crosses his arms over his chest "what weakness do you think I have?" He huffs
"Your brain for a start" clover, Elm and Harriet all laugh
"You did ask" Vine, the mediator, adds
"Do you need a new best friend?" Nora approaches Elm who looks down on her "our name could be THUNDER THIGHS!!!!"
"Sounds ridiculous" I comment and Nora glares at me
"Perfect coordination, yep I want to protect my friends just like that" little rose nods
"They're not friends" I note
"Friends" Harriet laughs along with Elm
"This ain't no school yard kid" Elm mentions
"Surely going through so much as a team would make you friends" Coral states ever the level headed one
"We get along well enough but we aren't friends. I count on them to keep me alive as they count on me but that's all there is to it" Harriet explains
"It's a job" Elm adds
"We don't confuse the two" Harriet finishes
"And suddenly I'm glad I was put in a team with you two idiots" I turn to Ash and Coral
"I'm flattered" Ash pauses "I think"
"Speaking of the job........" Clover grabs our attention and we all look in the direction he is and find Ironwood speaking to some soldiers "you all hang back a second"
"Yes sir" I offer a mocking salute which is not well received
"Hey guys!" Little Rose calls "what do you all want to do when we get back to Atlas, sightsee?" She pauses "oooh what should we see first"
"Bed" me and Jaune say at the same time, we make eye contact but both look away from each other as fast as possible, I almost believe I saw his cheeks redden slightly but I could be making that up
Little Rose ever the enthusiastic kid ignores the odd moment or perhaps she doesn't notice the others looking between me and Jaune and simply continues on
"Come on guys!! This is a great time to be exploring? We haven't done that in so long"
"Yo little rose we just explored a whole damn cave" I gesture to the entrance of said cave
"Yeah but...."
"She's right Rubes besides I'm sure we'll have another time to explore" Weiss cuts in
Little Rose frowns and Coral pats her on the back in a supportive manner
"Heads up!" Qrow points over to Ironwood
"Can I get the team leaders over here?" Ironwood asks and Little Rose, Jaune, Coral and Qrow join Ironwood
"I just wanna go to bed" I complain
"Yes I heard you before darlin"
"Shut up Ash"
