"This pharmacy is just where he volunteers when he's not building the future of Atlas alongside Ironwood up in the clouds" Maria boasts
"Oh it's stuffy up there" I snort at the comment "down here I get to help the locals and have a little fun, I'm currently working on shoes that make you dance. Anyone want to try them?" I raise an eyebrow
"YES!" Nora and ,surprisingly, Saph scream out from the back of the group
"Before we get to that" Blondie interferes "we were wondering if you could help us."
"We came to Atlas hoping to speak to General Ironwood but um..." Coral continues
"What's happening here?" Blake jumps straight to the question we all want answering
"Well the fall of Beacon took a toll on all of us. James was no different. I couldn't tell you what he saw there but something changed him. He's..."
"Scared" Qrow tries
"Paranoid" Pietro objects "would be a more accurate term. It wasn't just the Grimm, someone managed to dismantle Atlas security, made it their play-thing and made us look like fools and traitors. Whoever managed to do that is either a genius or one of our own. I fear the answer may be both and so does the general." He finishes
"Maybe Atlas isn't as safe as we first thought" Ren concludes
"After we came all this way we can't just leave" Oscars been so quiet I almost forgot he was here
"How does the council feel about all this and Winter Schnee? Do you know anything about her?" Weiss asks desperately
"Well the councils scared" Pietro starts "they'll agree to whatever he wants. Though some representatives from Mantle... wait... you're Weiss Schnee!"
Weiss gasps fearfully and we all take a step forward ready to protect her if we have to
"Wait what was it you were saying about Mantle?" Blondie steps in front of Weiss, instead of answering the man looks down at Blondie's arm (well prosthetic) and merely states
"You painted it"
"What?" Blondie steps back
"Is everything okay?" Little Rose steps forward as the man eyes her, Blondie, Blake and Weiss
"Your team RWBY!" He finally lets out
"You know us?" Little Rose squeaks
"Oh, my girl, I do. I most certainly do. And I feel like such a dunce for not recognising you sooner"
"Yeah but you didn't recognise her" I gesture to Maria "and you've met her how many times" I go ignored
"my daughters told me so much about you" he mentions
"Your...daughter?!" Little Rose asks
We're quickly interrupted when an alarm sounds on the street
"Trouble" Jaune speaks
"It's always something" I add and we all draw our weapons and head outside ignoring Pietro's call for us to wait. I notice Blake pause as she eyes her broken katana before simply wielding it in its gun form instead
"Saph stay back" she nods
"I guess the cities defences aren't doing much" Oscar notes
"Clearly" I mutter
We hear growling from down a side road and watch as an Atlesian knight 200 is thrown against a lamppost. Before long another robot is thrown and more appear shooting at the Sabyrs which tackle and destroy them one by one.
"Let's go team!" Little Rose encourages
I grab my bow and ready an arrow, I let it fly and it hits a Sabyr straight in between the eyes, I switch to spear as the Sabyrs close in, I slice and plunge my spear into there bodies as they approach. One Sabyr ahead of me lunges for me as I yank shadow out of the gut of another, before it can lay a single claw on me it's obliterated by a green beam. I look up and notice something or someone flying about letting off green rays that annihilate the Sabyrs
"Penny?!" Little Rose calls out
"What!" I shout out surprised
The girl comes down to the ground and Pietro calls to her
"Darling why don't you say hello to your friends"
Penny turns towards us all and her eyes light up when they land on Little Rose
"Sal" Penny starts "u"
"Uh" Little Rose's eyebrows furrow
"Tations" Penny sprints toward Little Rose, jumps and lands on her, literally on her. We all stash our weapons away. Penny bounces back to her feet as Little Rose (with no grace) gets to her feet
"It is a pleasure to see you all again" Penny beams
"Penny I-i-i thought y-you..."
"Died" Pietro finishes unflinching "I guess she did in a manner of speaking. But we managed to recover her core from Amity Colosseum. It took me some time but..."
"I'm as good as new" Penny notions to herself "I'm combat ready, and now I'm the official protector of the city"
"That's my girl" Pietro grins proudly "were not going to let a little ripping to shreds stop us" I snort at the absurdity of the statement
"No sir" Penny salutes
"This is..." Weiss starts
"Strangely wholesome" Blake finishes
"Sounds like Penny to me" Blondie smiles, Penny grabs Little Rose
"We have so much to catch up on, I cannot wait" though Penny stops when the sirens go off down another street "I guess it'll have to wait" she bounces back and salutes "let's talk more later. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures!" She calls out before zooming off in the direction of the alarm
"I have no idea if I know what's going on or if I have, like, a million questions" Nora huffs
Pietro upon heading back to the pharmacy calls back "luckily for you I have a thousand answers. But let's get out of this weather first" we start following him back to the pharmacy but I pause upon seeing Ren stop.
"Ren what is..." I can't finish my thought when I'm tied up in some kind of rope, I let out a long winded sigh "seriously"
We're met by five people clothed in an Atlesian uniform
"Good work team" the tall man closest to Little Rose calls
"Hey what's going on?" I hear Oscar call out from behind me
"Let go" I hear Saph panicking
"Hey pal I'm a licensed huntsman. Just helped save everyone" Qrow moans
"Let's get them loaded into the transport" the tall man (clearly the leader) instructs
"Please we were just trying to help" Little Rose tries
"What is the meaning of this? What are the Ace-ops even doing here in Mantle?" Pietro question
"Ace-ops? What the hell is that name?" I comment
"Doctor good to see you" the leader greets Pietro "we heard a report of an unauthorised ship landing in the area followed by an unauthorised use of weapons by unlicensed huntsman"
"Give me a break" I roll my eyes
"If we could just talk this out" Pietro tried again
"They'll be able to talk this out once they get to Atlas, let's move out!"
"Oh I'll be talking alright, I've got a lot to bloody say after this" a faunas grabs me and pulls me to the transport
"Now this is the welcome to Atlas I was expecting" Qrow notes, I let out a small laugh despite the situation
We're all loaded into two airships and forced to sit down, I'm in a van with Jaune, Oscar, Qrow, Coral, Ash, Saph and some unknown guy opposite.
This outta be fun.
