Shang Qinghua came back around four days after the other peak lords. He only got a couple hours before Shen Qingqiu already stood in his house.

“Did you find out something?” he asked instantly.

“If it counts that we now know that the person seems to be sneaky and good at not being discovered,” Shang Qinghua replied, already anticipating the disapproving look on Shen Qingqiu’s face. To not look like a total failure, he pulled out something from his luggage. “Ey, look what I brought though,” he said, dangling a tiny bag in front of Shen Qingqiu. The bag gave a little jingle and Shen Qingqiu’s attention was immediately drawn to it.

Quickly he grabbed the bad, cradling it against his chest.

“And?” Shang Qinghua asked, clearly waiting for something.

“...Thank you," Shen Qingqiu said unexpectedly.

While Shang Qinghua wondered if he may have gotten hard of hearing suddenly, Shen Qingqiu fought with himself to look inside that little bag. Of course he wanted to make sure that what he had ordered looked as good as he hoped, but he also kind of wanted to share the moment with Yue Qingyuan when he gave him the present.

It was still quite a while until it was the seventh last day of autumn, but Shen Qingqiu had patience when it came to waiting. In the meantime there was still a lot to do after all. He had to make sure to do some more planning and he had to go to Qian Cao peak to talk with his adoptive mother, so she could teach him how to make peach blossom pastries.

Having gotten what he came to An Ding Peak for, Shen Qingqiu set off to Qian Cao Peak right away. Yan Hua was currently busy talking to a disciple from Wan Jian Peak. The kid seemed a bit upset about something, so Shen Qingqiu refrained from bothering the two and instead went to bother Mu Qingfang.

“I need you to organize something for me,” Shen Qingqiu informed the physician.

Mu Qingfang looked up from the scroll he had just been writing on. Before Shen Qingqiu had come to his storage he had been taking a note of all the items he had and what might need replacing. This task was one of the rare things where he really didn’t mind being interrupted.

“Just tell me what you need, I will see what I can do,” Mu Qingfang said with a smile.

“I need a drug that can knock a cultivator out for around… seven hours,” Shen Qingqiu said straight out, “And it has to be harmless.”

“You need…what?” Mu Qingfang put down his scroll to properly look at the man. Judging by the expression on Shen Qingqiu’s face and by how few jokes he ever made, it was obvious that he was not trying to pull his leg.

”I am planning something and I need to do some of it at night, but my husband wakes up the moment I get out of bed,” Shen Qingqiu explained, “I want him to be surprised and not be tired after he spoiled it for himself.”

“So, let me get this straight. You want to drug our sect leader and you're asking me to assist you with it and become an accomplice,” Mu Qingfang rephrased, “Is that correct?”

“Yes,” Shen Qingqiu said, not caring that it sounded basically like he planned to commit a crime.

Mu Qingfang closed his eyes and contemplated. With how smitten his oldest shixiong was with this man, he would likely not even care if he was being poisoned instead by him. Knowing Shen Qingqiu though, he would likely murder Mu Qingfang if he would provide something that could harm Yue Qingyuan in any way.

“I may have an herb that is usually used as a sleeping medication, but can, at a higher dosage, knock a person out,” he said carefully.

“What a coincidence. I have been having some trouble sleeping lately,” Shen Qingqiu lied, “You should tell me how high a dosage I shouldn't use if I just want to sleep and not be unwakable for seven hours.”
