Shang Qinghua hated everything. Why did he have to go along to that damned banquet? He didn’t like it. The Palace Master sucked. Fine, he was part of the more administrative part of the sect along with Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu, but he still felt treated unfairly.
Bad tempered, Shang Qinghua started throwing random clothes into his luggage, so he had enough for the trip. At least he could go by carriage. Even if he had to share it with that grumpy old ascetic shidi of his. That guy knew no fun. And what was even worse, ever since that meeting the day prior he had been looking at Shang Qinghua like he had the pestilence.
It was just about known all over the mountain now that the sect was being friendly with demons. It was however very much known that Shang Qinghua was even more ‘friendly’ with one of them. Naturally that old guy who had even frowned at the sect leader's wedding to a man the whole time would judge another man even more if he were to do it with a male demon.
If the Ku Xing peak lord annoyed him too much, he was just going to read out excerpts from ‘The pitiful human and his strong hottie demon boyfriend’. That bald head of his would turn all red and he may jump out of the carriage voluntarily.
At that mental image, Shang Qinghua couldn't help but snicker. He immediately threw the very book into his bag. He didn't pack all too much. Mostly something more to write and a few clothes. Shang Qinghua was pondering over how many underpants to pack, deciding that two ought to be enough. He could pack more snacks that way…
When there was suddenly a knock at his door, Shang Qinghua startled. He put down the pair of socks he was holding and went to see who visited him. He was quite surprised to see that it was Liu Mingyan. The young woman was holding a report in her hand with a serious expression.
“Evening Shibo,” Liu Mingyan greeted politely, “I am to discuss further expenses for the travels of Miss Sha and I.”
“Urm, sure,” Shang Qinghua replied, indicating the way to his study, “Do you want tea or something?”
“No need,” Liu Mingyan assured.
She put out her report on the desk and showed Shang Qinghua how much money she had used the last time, how much she had been able to earn additionally and which discounts she had gotten that could be subtracted. Shang Qinghua was surprised by how detailed the report of the finances was. Normally everyone always forgot about that and he had to spend ages asking them about every little thing. He could almost cry tears of joy.
He only had to calculate everything and he could call it quits, sending it to Qiong Ding Peak to have the funds permitted. It was like it was his birthday.
Shang Qinghua was quick at calculating. He could have used the System, but he had always been quite good at mathematics and found some enjoyment in it. It was basically as if everything he lacked in languages was put into this. Sadly this and writing books were the only things he was good at. It sufficed for An Ding Peak. He did not plan on entering Qing Jing Peak after all.
As Shang Qinghua scribbled down the equations on a piece of paper, Liu Mingyan looked around the study a little. Her eyes came to linger on an interesting looking scroll that was half open. Without Shang Qinghua noticing, she unrolled it curiously. What she came to find surprised her greatly.
Liu Mingyan turned her head to look at Shang Qinghua with a frown. She had really not guessed that her shibo also enjoyed such things. At a second glance though, she couldn't keep a surprised exclamation from her. This thing was not just something Shang Qinghua was reading. The handwriting was his own.
“Is something wro–” Shang Qinghuastarted, breaking off when he saw what Liu Mingyan was looking at with such red cheeks, “Wait, that– Give me that!”
