"Happy Thanksgiving!" The group toasted from around Johnny's large dining table. He had a lot of his siblings and their children there, as well as his own Lily-Rose, Jack, their mother and step father, Vanessa and Samuel alongside Alice, Sheryl and Meghan. The latter looked along the table and caught Johnny's gaze, he winked at her before sipping his drink. The pair had decided in order to avoid any clashes during the holiday they would keep their relationship quiet, and to worry about details and logistics after everyone left. That hadn't stopped the stolen glances, secret touches and lustful desire they had for one another though.
"Meghan, how was Italy in the end?" Christi asked from across the table. She was Johnny's sister and CEO of his American production company. "Oh it was amazing thank you, such a beautiful part of the world." "And you didn't mind bunking with my brother for that length of time?" Johnny's brother asked making Meg's eyes go wide. "Bunking?" "Rooming?" "Oh sorry.. yes no it was fine! Stephen and him kept themselves occupied." Johnny smirked at Meghan's response before sipping his wine. "Lily, you must be excited about being picked to appear at Paris Fashion week?" Meghan said trying to take some of the attention of herself. "Yeah I guess." The teen said abruptly. "We are very proud of her." Johnny said jumping in, confused as to why his daughter was so blunt with Meghan.
"So what's the plan for you now then?" Alice asked whilst the large group were scattered across the living room after dinner. Most people were mingling and Meghan and her uncle had taken a moment together. "I'm not sure. Johnny wants me to start work in January on some post edit and preview stuff, and I guess that will run until the film premieres. I think they are just negotiating that now." "Wow.. so that's cool, you'll be in LA a while?" " I think so, I like it here and I've got the house until at least the end of the year..." she tailed off, as well as her new budding relationship with Johnny she thought but didn't voice. "Well I'm happy for you kid. Keep up the good work, you deserve it." Meghan hugged her uncle before pulling back. "Any word from your mother about Christmas?" "Nope. Dan said he hadn't heard either. He will be doing his usual although can you believe they did invite themselves to come and stay with me in between Christmas and new year!" Alice smirked, "well that's a first!" "I know!" Meghan said giggling. "And Poppy?" "Shacked up in the far east with some guy that supposedly is the one, however she said that about the last three guys she met on the last island so who knows!" "Well you're welcome at ours as always." "Thank you... although I feel like at almost 30, I shouldn't be depending on you and Sheryl so much." "Sweetie, no matter how old you get, you'll never be too grown up for your old aunt and uncle ok?" Meghan smiled before kissing him on the cheek, "shall I go refill your tea?" She said sweetly taking his cup and heading into the kitchen.
She poured some tea for her uncle and refilled her glass of water before turning. "Oh hi Lily, I didn't see you there!" Meghan said joyfully. "Well here I am." The teen said sarcastically. "Lily, are you ok?" "I'm FINE." The teen grabbed a soda out the fridge and abruptly left the room almost knocking into her father. "Woah. Watch it darling." He said as she headed on out. "What was that about?" Johnny asked and Meghan shrugged. "No idea! I didn't know she was behind me and turned round and she surprised me, she said she's fine, so.." "Oh ok.. sorry. She's probably just being a teenager." "Yes I remember it well!" Meghan giggled. "are you enjoying your day?" He asked gently approaching. "It's been wonderful, thank you. Are you?!" "Very much so.. although I'm missing you." "I'm right here?" Meghan giggled. "You know what I mean!" Johnny chuckled rubbing his chin before kissing her passionately. He pulled back when a noise was heard from the living room. "I should get back..." Johnny nodded.
The next day, Sheryl and Meghan were sat in front of the fire sipping tea in the early evening. "You've really made this place homely haven't you?" "I've tried, to be honest most of it is Johnny's stuff, I've not even got half my stuff out of storage." "Well you'll get there... is there any point though if you're moving out at the end of the year?" "Moving out?" Meghan said shocked. "Yes Alice said you've got this place until the end of the year." "Oh that's what Johnny and I originally discussed but I'm not so sure now. I like LA, and I've settled here, but I don't know how long he will let me stay here." "I'm sure it will be fine, maybe you should talk to him about it. Do you see him much?" "Now and again." Meghan said sheepishly. "Ah that's nice." Alice came into the room looking disheveled "Would you believe it? I've left my picks at home." "Oh there's some here.. hang on." Meghan said standing and heading into another room before pausing "And why do you have picks?" Her uncle asked skeptically. "Oh well umm Johnny popped round one day and left them, you know what he's like, so messy, I just tidied them away and forgot to give them back to him." Meghan handed one to her uncle who smiled. "Still not mastered playing yet?" "Nope.. it will come, however the fact there is a piano in the dining room makes me want to start learning that again." The woman said proudly. "That's my girl." Alice said before rushing off again. "Honestly that man!" Sheryl said as Meghan sat back down on the couch. "Is there any news on Alex?" "No why would there be?" "Just curious. I thought he would at least try and win you back." "Well he hasn't and I'm not sure I would want him back anyway." "Well I'm sure the right man will come along for you. You've just got to stop looking." Meg smiled before sipping her drink. "We should FaceTime Dan soon. We said we would at 7."
The next day Johnny, and his children dropped by for lunch to say goodbye to Alice and Sheryl. Meghan made a delicious meal for everyone, and went above and beyond. She really enjoyed hosting and the group could tell. Jack was extremely charming and on more than one occasion complimented the woman. Lily-Rose on the other hand, played with her food and only spoke with blunt abrupt answers. She seemed to be fairly friendly towards Alice and Sheryl, but Meghan put that down to her knowing them rather well. Maybe she took time to warm up to people? After all, she had been hurt before.
