"You commented?" Meg said from across the aisle on the private plane that was still on the tarmac in LA. "Yeah.." Lily said shoving her phone in her bag. "Darling. That's sweet but the public, they'll think you're supporting us." "I am??" Lily said with a proud smile. "You make my Dad happy, hell you make us happy. Screw them." Meg bit her lip rather emotional at how far her and the teenage girl had come. "Thank you." She said quietly and Lily smiled before beginning to annoy her brother.

"Right less of that!!" Johnny said as he boarded. He smelt distinctly Johnny, cigarettes and Sauvage after chain smoking a lot outside the plane before their long flight to France. "Dad.. how long is the flight." "Long enough." Johnny said rolling his eyes and pulling out his sketch book from his satchel. "I mean it's not like they've not done it before." He chuckled nudging Meg who smiled, she was on her phone on the duolingo app. "Johnny! You distracted me! That was gonna be a perfect streak!" She giggled. "How many days have you done that thing?" Lily asked "94 and I'm still no where near fluent." Meg said concerned. "We'll practice." Lily said with a kind smile. Ever since learning that Johnny's ex hadn't bothered with the children's French heritage, she had taken it upon herself to learn the language and adapt to French life as much as possible. It hadn't gone unnoticed by Johnny or his children.

Much later into the flight, it had gotten dark and the children had retreated to the single beds in a spare cabin at the back of the plane. Meg was sipping a delicious red with her legs across Johnny's lap. She was reading a book, and he was sketching leaning on the table. The lights were dimmed, and she could hear the snores coming from Travis and Sean. Johnny's left hand was gently brushing her shins and ankles in a comforting way. "I umm, I just wanted to say, thank you for inviting me to France." She said softly. "You're welcome. You don't need to thank me." "He gets married tomorrow." Meg said quietly. "I know." Johnny said. "How do you feel about it?" He asked his girlfriend. "I umm I don't know, I always wanted to get married at some point. You know when I suggested it once, he had the cheek to say that with my dysfunctional family why would we want to?!" Johnny's eyes widened. "He said that?" "Yeah.. anyway." Meg moved on beginning to read her book again. "Do you wanna get hitched?" Johnny asked. "Not right now.. let me finish this chapter." She giggled before looking at Johnny once again. "I mean seriously?" Meg took a deep breath, "I umm haven't even thought, why do you?" She asked nervously. "I once said once bitten twice shy.. but if you wanted to I would seriously consider it. You know sometimes I forget that you're so much younger than me. I forget you might want different things." Meg lent into Johnny and kissed his cheek. "Look. We've only been dating since Thanksgiving.. we are now only in July, we don't need to talk about marriage yet." Johnny nodded "but you would? Like if the option was there?" "As in if you asked me?" She smirked. "Yes if I asked you, when we were ready?" Meg's jaw went slack. "I umm yes, Johnny I would say yes." She said with a smile before he went back to sketching as if they had only just discussed what to have for dinner. Meg tried to resume her reading but couldn't help but think about the words Johnny had just spoken.

Eventually, Meg dozed off in her chair. Johnny looked up from his sketch and spotted his girlfriend. He gently took her book out her hand and marked her page before deciding to gently wake her and offer the master cabin on board. First, he sat back admiring the girl, her brunette tresses framing her pretty face, the face he had grown to love, and the face that was plastered all over the world because of who he was. Her exquisite body, was only the second most attractive thing to him, he loved her soul, her fierce yet elegant personality, and he had to admit to himself he was falling hard for her. Before his thoughts could trouble him any longer, he gently nudged her awake with a whisper. "Let's get some rest doll." Her eyes gently fluttered open and she groaned slightly at the disturbance. "Come on. You'll be much comfier." He said pulling her hand up from the seat as she trailed behind him rubbing her eyes and yawning.

Yanking off her oversized hoodie, she climbed into the small bed, and Johnny soon joined her. Wrapping his arms around her, she gently rested her head on his tattooed chest before falling into a slumber again. "I love you Johnny.." "I love you too darling." He whispered back kissing her head. "One day. One day my heart will be healed because of your love, and I'll ask you. I'll make you mine." He said before closing his eyes and hoping to sleep.
