Meg's migraine had gone on for well over 24 hours before she felt well enough to interact with other humans again. She apologised profusely to Stephen and Gina for being so rude but after suffering for years she knew she needed silence and darkness. Johnny had taken such good care of her, and she never once doubted how he felt about her.

After a day or so of being cooped up in Johnny's bed recovering, she finally managed to get up, showered and down to breakfast where she sipped some tea chatting with Hilda. They were soon joined by the children and Lily Rose jumped up on a bar stall beside her. "Meg, can I ask you a question?" "Sure." The woman replied. "Where did you get that stunning dress from?! You looked insane!!" The teen gushed referring to the red carpet at Palm Springs.  "Oh nowhere special! It was off the rack!" Meg said with a smile "Well I think you looked amazing." "Thank you darling." Meg replied before turning to Jack. "Have you finished your history project?" "No!! It's so hard I've still got another two whole pages to do." "Well why don't we look at it tonight? I can try and help.." the boy smiled before they were joined by their father. "What are you helping with now?" She asked. "History.." Meg said proudly before Johnny poured himself a coffee. "So I've been thinking..." "dangerous.." Jack smirked at his father resulting in a roll of the eyes from Johnny. "How about a little vacation?" "Vacation?" Lily questioned. "Yes.. a trip, the four of us? Spend some time relaxing, enjoying the summer before things get crazy in fall." "Seriously?" Meg's eyes widened worrying what the children would think about going on a vacation with her. "Where?" Lily asked, "We can go anywhere you want. My vote would always be France though." Johnny said and Lily nodded slowly. "To the village?" Jack questioned. "Yes... it's private, it's beautiful and we all love it, why not show Meg somewhere we love so dearly." "But it's such a special place for you all... I wouldn't want to intrude." Meg said nervously. "You wouldn't be." Lily said with a smile. "You'll love it, honestly Daddy is right it's just spectacular this time of year." "Yes let's go to France!!! Wahoo!!" Jack cheered before Johnny chuckled and said "Ok I'll speak with your mother, get going to school and I'll sort it." The children hugged him goodbye and waved at Meg before leaving. "Seriously? A vacation?" She asked as he approached. "Yes. I think it's high time that I showed you the good life. AND that we spent time together properly, the four of us. That's where I went wrong with her." Meg nodded before biting her lip. "I don't need you to show me a flashy life Johnny.." "I know but let me spoil you please..." he said before kissing her. "Besides, if you're sure you're not going to Alex's wedding, that leaves the rest of the month wide open doesn't it?" Meg giggled and lent into him. "Ok. Thank you, I can't wait." "And if you wanted we could tie it in with seeing your mother, didn't she say she wanted the family to come for a vacation in Europe over the summer." Meg pulled a face before Johnny got the hint and said "We can think about it..."

"Schools out!!!!" Jack yelled as he rushed through the foyer three days later. "Meg!! I got an A!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!" He said wrapping his arms around the woman, they were soon joined by a group of Lily and Jack's school friends who had been invited round for a pool party to mark the end of term and the start of summer vacation. Meg had originally opted to stay out the way but Johnny practically insisted claiming he was useless with all the kids and would 100% burn the party food Hilda had left. "That's great bud!! Well done!!!" "Boys this is Meg.. Meg you know Sam and Kyle, that's Brad and Tommy." Meg smiled and said hi to all of them before turning to Lily. "And how was your last day?" She asked kindly. "Yeah same old... umm this is Selina, and Jade and well you know Sammy." Meg once again greeted them before turning and heading into the kitchen. She heard Johnny leave his office and greet the children who had arrived before he walked into the kitchen and spotted Meg making lemonade. "Doll?" "Yeah?" She said looking up whilst wrestling a lemon, "I told you Hilda did a lot of it already." "Nonsense. I would have loved all this when I was younger, instead I got a hostile mother and a Dad who bless him didn't know where the kitchen was. Besides it's a nice treat on a hot day." She said with a smile and he nodded before opening the doors to the garden, and yelling for the music to be turned down. It was blaring.

A few hours later, the afternoon sun was rapidly disappearing, but the children seemed to still be having fun. Lily was floating in the pool besides her friends on a large inflatable when Selina turned to her "Your step mom seems nice Lil." "She is NOT my step mother." Lily said pushing her sun glasses closer to her face. "Oh.." the friend said confused. "My Dad is only dating her. He would never marry again." Lily added sipping her lemonade that Meg had handed out a while back.  "Oh I would think you would want him to be happy again?" Sammy said from the water. "I do. He is. Doesn't mean he has to marry her does it??" Lily said as if it was the simplest thing in the world.

"Woahh your Dad's girl is super hot isn't she??" Tommy said to Jack where they were dunking hoops in the shallow end. "Umm yeah I guess in a weird way." Jack replied throwing the ball. "A weird way? No she is in the RIGHT WAY bro." Brad said smirking. "She's my Dad's girlfriend. I don't see her that way." Jack said sensibly. "So you don't ever imagine her or think about her?" Tommy asked. "No I fucking don't." Jack said throwing the ball at his friend creating a large splash that got the girls. "Jack!!!!" Lily squealed before Meg who had been sat on the terrace with her laptop looked up. She saw Lily jump off the float and splash her brother and storm out the pool. She grabbed her towel and was heading towards the house. "Lil.. you ok?" Meg asked concerned. "You're not my mother ok?????" Lily said loudly and abruptly before rushing in the house as Johnny wandered out with a glass of wine for him and Meg. He placed the glasses down on the table in front of the shocked woman and said "Excuse me..." following his daughter into the house.
