"I was invited." "I'm sure you were not fucking invited." Meg said with her hands on her hips. "What is your problem?" "My problem? Let's focus on the main problem... what are you doing at my birthday party?" "I was invited..." Meg rolled her eyes before grabbing the sleeve of the man, she held him afar as if he was some disease filled person and marched him down the stairs, which he found mildly amusing. "Travis!!" She called out but sadly he was too busy wrapped up in her sister, and she had to admit it was his night off. Dan appeared out of nowhere "Fuck me.. everyone is just coming out the woodwork tonight aren't they? Do I even need to ask what you're doing here?" The man in question showed a sleezy smile. By this point Poppy who clearly had been watching out for her sister rushed over from the dance floor. "Could this night get any worse?" She said rather loudly. "Get out. This is a private party, and you were not invited." "I was." Poppy's jaw dropped open, "You were not. I saw to the invitations myself personally, and everyone was verified with Meghan's boyfriend so I'd say you're a big fat liar." Poppy said mimicking her sister's stance. "Now are you gonna leave?" Dan said sternly protecting his sisters. "God alright... but some family you are!! We are meant to be siblings you know!!" "Siblings?" Poppy scoffed. "Don't make me laugh. The only thing we have in common is that our parent's are married, you're nothing to me, to my sister or my brother. If we wanted you here we would have invited you." The man turned "What about you Meg? You've not said anything for a while..." the man moved towards a nervous looking Meghan. "I don't believe we've been introduced." Johnny said pushing his way in front of Meghan the moment that the step brother was attempting to touch her hand. He had been watching from afar and saw how uncomfortable she had become. "I'm Johnny. And you are?" Johnny said sternly holding out his ring clad tattooed hand. "Pal.. it's rude to leave a guy hanging." He added in his charming voice. "I'm Callum. Their brother." The man shook Johnny's hand over confidently and gestured to the three siblings. "STEP. Step brother." Dan said rolling his eyes. "Well as you were not invited to this bash, I can only assume you're not the closest." "You assume what you like Mr, I have every right to be here. I don't get to spend enough time with Meg as it is." Callum tried to step closer to Meg and Johnny immediately put his arm around his girlfriend and pulled her close. "Well baring in mind I've known her nearly a year and she's not even mentioned you, I'd take the hint mate." Meg took a deep breath and rushed off towards the bar where Sheryl and Alice were. The former immediately wrapped her arms around the birthday girl.

"Don't let him out your sight!" Johnny gestured to Dan. The latter nodded as Johnny followed his girlfriend to the bar. Sheryl moved Meg into Johnny's embrace. "Doll? We can head home whenever you want?" "No it's ok.. it's just a shock him being here. I bet Mom called him and insisted he came." "I'll speak to your mother." Sheryl said heading to the nearby table that Sharon was sat holding court with some extended relatives. "Are you sure you don't wanna call it a night?" "No Johnny, it's my birthday and you've gone to so much effort. I'm going to enjoy this night whether it kills me." "Ok darling... will you dance with me?" "Johnny, you don't need to." "I want to."

After being told countless times to leave it in the capable hands of Poppy, Dan and Aunt Sheryl, Meg managed to enjoy the rest of her party mainly from the dance floor. Give him his due, Johnny did a wonderful job of distracting her and embracing her talent for dancing. It felt so special to have a man supporting her and enjoying her passion as opposed to shutting it down and being angry about it. The last song of the night played and it was an extremely slow track almost a Rhumba, so Meg took Johnny's hands and placed them on her body before letting him lead. She didn't care about the steps or the moves she just wanted to be close to him. He enjoyed every moment of having his girl in his arms, even to the point that neither of them saw the lights go up as the party came to an end.

Meg made quick work of saying her goodbyes to everyone as the guests left, but somehow got sandwiched in a giant hug from her mother. It wasn't genuine, anyone could see that, the birthday girl put it down to her mother wanting to show off in front of so called distant relatives who didn't know the real truth. "Oh darling, happy birthday! We'll come by for brunch tomorrow.. I'd like that." Meg's jaw dropped open. "Did she just invite herself over?" "Just be thankful she didn't ask to stay... which by the way, we assumed we could? We did clear it with Johnny." Dan said from beside his sister. She looked up at him and giggled as he put his arm around her. "Happy birthday sis." She smiled as he kissed her head.

Arriving back to the house, Alice began teasing Johnny as he helped Meg remove her jacket. "I don't know why we didn't see it before Sheryl. Look he's smitten." Johnny rolled his eyes before Sheryl giggled "Leave him be... besides would you rather he wasn't?" Alice smirked before Johnny added "What would you rather, not that I'm capable of it but I treat her like shit?" "Don't test me boy... she's special this one... and where did that Travis boy go with Poppy?!" This made Meg and Sheryl smirk before Dan's eyes widened. "I'm hitting the hay.. I need it. Especially if Mom is coming tomorrow... Happy birthday Meg." He said wrapping his arms around his petite sister. "What? Are you not staying up to make sure Pop gets home ok?" The uncle said concerned. "Alice! She's on the driveway! She's probably kissing that McGivern or worse... leave her be!" Sheryl said. Meg looked at Johnny who was looking at Dan, Polly bit her lip hoping to hide the giggles but failed. In the end they all ended up chuckling over her outburst.

After making their way to their respective bedrooms, Meg chucked her clutch bag onto the bed and began to untie the straps of her dress at the back of her neck. "Woahhhh don't I get the pleasure?" Johnny said approaching from behind. His experienced fingertips slowly undone the bow, and he trailed them across her bare shoulders, pushing her hair to one side, his lips met her porcelain neck. "Johnny.." Meg whispered. "Yes my darling?" "Make me forget about everyone..." she whispered in the most seductive voice he thought he had ever heard.
