Meg pulled back and bit her lip, Johnny chuckled nervously before throwing his arms around her and dipping her low. This earned a large cheer and round of a applause before he slowly pulled back and returned her to her feet and whispered "Happy Birthday." With a smirk. She let out the big breath she had been holding before being swept up in greeting so many people who had to come to celebrate her.
Eventually from somewhere she was handed a glass of champagne and approached Johnny. "I didn't think... I'm so sorry." She said blushing. "Don't apologise. You were under the impression we were going public tonight anyway. I trust your friends and family, so just forget it." Johnny said sipping a whiskey. "Do you want to dance?" He asked with a smile and Meg shook her head. "It's ok. You've done way too much as it is, I'm not gonna make you dance." "I want to. Would you allow me the honour of one dance birthday girl?" He took her hand as she nervously nodded. She could so tell he wasn't comfortable but the fact he was trying meant the world to her. He picked up a few basic moves fairly quickly and span her at all the right moments leaving her quite flushed before the track changed to something a little more sensual. The dance floor was fairly busy, and she had pulled him closer when he whispered "Remember the first time we danced?" Her eyes widened. "Not all dancing is dirty... unless you want it to be." She whispered with a cheeky smile. "They are already all talking about us... might as well give them something to actually talk about." Johnny said bashfully before leaning her back and bringing her back up to his level. She span out and then returned, they were dancing so closely that their noses brushed against one another. Before long Johnny was completely in his own little world with his girl. The song came to an end and Meg kissed him briefly on the lips. "Let's go get you a drink, and besides I want to thank Joe, and Tommy for coming." Meg said sweetly before leading Johnny off the dance floor. As she headed to the bar, she spotted Poppy and Travis dancing extremely close together which made her eyes widened but she didn't care to question it, instead opting to enjoy her night.
After an hour or two, Meg had been round and mingled with all the guests and found her way back to the bar, where Johnny was stood beside his band mates, their wives, and a few other close friends that Meg had gotten to know rather recently well. "Hey darling... having fun?" Johnny said with a smile. "Very much so. Thank you." She said leaning into him as he passed her a cocktail freshly made by the barman. She jumped up on a vacant bar stall and began chatting excitedly with Sheryl, Billie and Sandra, the two latter women she had gotten to know rather well on the tour. Sheryl nudged her knee after a while and pointed to the dance floor where Poppy and Travis had been all night long and didn't look as if they were planning to stop anytime soon. Meg smiled, she only wanted her sister happy. Her brother was keeping a close eye on their baby sibling too and it made her feel proud as she called Polly over to introduce her.
An hour later, after a beautiful birthday cake was carried by Dan and Poppy to the birthday girl, she made a short speech thanking everyone for their efforts, especially those who flew in for the occasion, and made sure to mention Johnny and Poppy who had clearly worked very hard in recent weeks to make it all happen. She wrapped her little toast up by telling everyone to go and have fun which they didn't need telling twice. As she handed the microphone back to the DJ, she headed back to the bar when she heard a commotion at the door. "Excuse me Mam, this is a private party. No invite, no entry." She heard one of the many security detail members say. Meg rolled her eyes, Johnny valued his privacy and if somebody got into the party that wasn't invited, all hell would break loose. When a further commotion occurred, Meg saw Mark, and Travis who was still very much on the dance floor with Poppy launch themselves at the main doors as back up. Whoever it was clearly wanted to get in, the music had stopped and the crowd were staring at who the intruder could be, when a glamorous looking woman pushed her way through Mark and Travis and straightened her outfit, before yanking her obscenely large handbag onto her shoulder.
"MOM?" Poppy said loudly in the large club that you could hear a pin drop. The woman smiled before beginning to walk towards Poppy clearly oblivious to her other daughter stood just to the side and who's 30th birthday it was. Meg knew that there was no way Poppy would have invited their mother. It would have caused too much stress, and she also knew deep down that her mother would never give up her selfish ways and actually attend. That being said, she was obviously here for a reason so Meg decided it was now or never and showed her face, marching across the floor in her Louboutin heels she stopped in front of her mother and said "Mom? What are you doing here? This is a private party." "That's the best kinda party..." The woman said with a smile. "Is anyone going to get me a drink? I've travelled a long way you know!" She added making Sheryl roll her eyes and Dan slam his face into the palm of his hand. "Mom, how about we go to the bar." Dan said ushering his mother out the way as the DJ began to play music again. Poppy rushed over to her sister, "I swear to god, I mentioned it once to her and she completely spoke over me, I didn't know she even knew it was still going ahead." Meg hugged her sister. "Please don't worry. It's not your fault that she is the way she is."
