"Just a second!!" Meg said wiping her hands on her apron as she rushed to the front door. She opened it and saw Johnny, Lily-Rose and Jack on her doorstep. Panicking she flattened her clothes and wiped her forehead with a sleeve knowing she must look a sight after a morning of baking. "Hi guys.. is everything ok?" She asked flustered. "We are Christmas decorating!" Jack said eagerly. "Oh.." Meg said curiously. "The decorations are in your attic, sorry doll but the kids are desperate to get going do you mind?" "Not at all." She said opening the door widely and welcoming them in. "It's your property after all." "Something smells good?" Lily asked. "Ahh well with nothing to do today I decided to get a head start and make some festive candy, some chutneys and biscuits." "Wow! You've been busy!" Johnny smirked. "You bake?" Lily asked. "Try to. My grandmother taught me when I was a little girl. I do what I can remember." Meghan replied. "Can we see?" Jack asked and she nodded leading them through to the kitchen.

Somehow the children had ended up persuading Meg to share her festive cookies and the four were sat at the kitchen table enjoying the snack with a drink each. Johnny sipped his coffee and admired the woman from afar as she spoke animatedly to his children about the Christmas decorations. "Where are you going to put your tree Meghan?" Jack asked "Oh I hadn't thought. To be honest I don't even know if I'll get one." "What?? No tree? You have to!" Exclaimed Lily. "It's just all my Christmas stuff is in storage and besides my family aren't big on the whole holiday traditions." "Well then you must come today with us! We've been going to this tree farm for years!" Lily insisted. Johnny looked up at Meghan and he smiled sweetly. Jack enthusiastically agreed "you simply must come" he said. "Dad please tell her to come. She must get a tree it's Christmas!" Said Lily. Johnny nodded and agreed. "Yes, please join us. It will be lovely, but only if you want to, I know this sort of thing is difficult." Meg looked down at her cup and took a deep breath. She slowly looked up to the three eager faces in front of her, "Ok give me 10 minutes and I'll be ready to go." She said happily.

Meghan was in her bedroom changing out of her casual clothes into something more appropriate when Johnny knocked on the door, he snuck in and closed the door behind him. "What are you doing? What if they see you?" "It will be fine for a couple of minutes doll. I just wanted to make sure you were okay?" "I'm fine, are you sure it's OK that I come with you for this?" "Of course! I can't believe you were considering not getting a Christmas tree!" She smiled. "It's just I always go to Alice and Sheryl's so I've not bothered in recent years." "Well this is a whole new start." "Johnny.. I'm still not sure what about the children?" "What about them? They invited you! Please, it will be fine."

Later that evening, Megan stepped back, admiring her fully decorated Christmas tree. Lily clapped her hands together. "It looks wonderful. Don't you feel better now that it's all festive?" " You're right I do thank you. I've had the best day" "You're welcome. Now is there any more of those biscuits left?" Jack asked cheekily. "Hey I think we've taken up enough of Meg's time today let's get back" Johnny nodded towards his children and encouraged them to get their coats and shoes, leaving him alone with Meg in the living room. "Thank you for today. Seriously, it's been the best." "No problem darling. The children go to their mothers tomorrow for a few days. Can I come by?" "I'd like that." She said smiling before brushing her lips against his. She instantly pulled back when they heard the bickering children in the foyer. "I should.." Johnny said nervously. "Yes.. and thank you." Meghan followed him out and hugged the children goodbye. The eldest showing much more affection to the woman more than ever before.

The children raced out the front door and hovered on the driveway. Meg began to show Johnny out and smiled "Thanks again for today guys. It was good fun." Lily and Jack both smirked as Johnny stopped and smiled "We had fun too." "Daaaad" Jack said making his father turn on the spot. "What??" "You've got to kiss Meg!" The woman's eyes nearly popped out her head. "I'm sorry?" Johnny replied a little flustered. "Dad... look... Jack found a place for the mistletoe when we were hanging the wreath on the door..." Lily said pointing to a small bunch of mistletoe hanging from the door frame directly above Johnny and Meghan. The latter was frozen on the spot. It was one thing agreeing to be Johnny's girl in secret but kissing him so publicly in front of his children was obviously off the cards for a while. Hopefully he would set them straight and she could remove the mistletoe once they had left. "Umm.. well ok.." Johnny stuttered turning back to face Meg. She offered a sweet calm smile but inside she was a bag of nerves. Johnny took a step forward and wrapped his arms around her elaborately, clearly showing off to his children as he dipped Meghan and planted a huge loving kiss on her plump pink lips. He pulled back ever so slightly and stared into her eyes for a moment as they fluttered open. She smiled, and so did he before he discreetly winked at her and pulled her back to her feet.

Lily and Jack were swooning, the latter proud of his achievement but still shocked at his father's action had his mouth wide open, whilst Lily giggled. "That was some kiss..." she whispered to her brother. "Yeah... he's got more chemistry with her than some of his Co stars." Jack replied before Johnny turned "What was that?" He asked his children who fiercely shook their heads. "Nothing." "Right we really must be going now... once again thank you for your hospitality." "And the kiss" Johnny added quietly so only Meg could hear. She lent against the door waving goodbye to them as they headed back down the street to their home, with a large smile on her face that would remain for the rest of the evening.
